Horror movie fans might be very interested in checking out this new short premiering on the unique new streaming platform, Chilling.
Here is some more information about the new platform.
Chilling gives independent creators a platform to share content and compete against studios that create generic material just to hit metrics and sell tickets.
Our agile production process puts control back in the hands of the diverse and loyal horror community by allowing them to give and receive feedback. Content is then co-created based on shared ideas and the wants of diehard horror fans.
As this content gains engagement, Chilling will professionally produce it. With audience previews and feedback mechanisms looped into every step, we have the potential to make wasteful entertainment industry practices virtually obsolete.
You can find the Chilling app on iTunes. You can also learn more on ChillingApp.com.
One of the shorts now playing today (September 18, 2023) is the film Gale.
Long gone are the days of emerald cities and yellow brick roads, the enchanting tale of the Wizard of Oz takes a haunting turn. Dorothy Gale (Karen Swan), now in her twilight years, bears the scars of a lifetime entangled with the paranormal forces of a mystical realm. These otherworldly encounters have left her shattered, and the echoes of her experiences now reverberate through her sole living relative, Emily (Chloë Culligan Crump). As Emily is beckoned to confront the unresolved matters of this bone-chilling Oz, a terrifying journey awaits her.
The film was directed by Daniel Alexander.
I saw a trailer for Gale a long time ago (many months). The moment I saw it I knew I had to see it. I even made note of it on my spreadsheet to look for it, because back then I didn’t know much about the film or where it would be shown. All I knew was the name of the film and what I saw on the trailer.
I’ll be honest, I thought this was a full length film. It’s only a short. It’s about a half hour long. I WISH it was a full length film because some of the special effects are amazing.
What I saw was really good. Confusing… but good. As I mentioned before, it’s the special effects that stood out the most to me.
Here is the film’s trailer for your enjoyment.
I am going to look into downloading the Chilling app. As a fan of the horror movie genre, I cannot get enough of qualify horror movies.
Most horror movies that come out these days are frankly, dumb. However Gale was pretty good (special effects). If this is the quality of content that is available on Chilling, it’s certainly my “cup of tea” and something I’d most likely really enjoy.
To the makers of the film Gale – PLEASE make this a full length film, and provide more backstory into the main characters lives. You’re special effects are spot on.
What do you think about the idea of Chilling? Are you going to check it out? Feel free to comment and share your thoughts.
