Sulpice Gourmet Chocolat Giveaway

Chocolate…that ooey, gooey, melts-in-your-mouth little piece of heaven here on Earth. Who doesn’t love and appreciate a rich, flavorful piece of chocolate? Even just the mere mention of chocolate can make some people (yes, even men!) giddy with delight. There is just something magical about this cocoa and sugar confection that seems to appeal to most everyone.

There are plenty of ways you can get your chocolate “fix” between chocolate flavored cereals, chocolate flavored drinks, chocolate bars, chocolate covered stuff, even chocolate lip gloss and chocolate scented candles. Every where you go you can usually find something to satisfy your chocolate craving.

Every now and then it’s great to indulge in a gourmet chocolate. Something that you wouldn’t normally have on a day to day basis. Like chocolate with almonds and pink Himalayan salt. Or dark chocolate with Pistachios. MMmm… something out of the ordinary.

When I was asked if I wanted to sample gourmet chocolates from a company called Sulpice there was NO WAY I would say “NO”. Who would turn down the opportunity to indulge in some of the world’s most finest chocolate creations? Not me!

Sulpice offers a unique array of gourmet, artisan chocolate bars, some of which are unlike any I have seen before. With ingredients like crystallized ginger, lemon essence, cayenne and chipotle chili peppers and Tellicherry black pepper you know these are no ordinary chocolate bars.

Sulpice sent me three chocolate bars: Menthe, Moke and Noisette. I was especially interested in the Menthe because that is a dark chocolate infused with mint and covered in a beautiful Emerald colored “paint”. I ♥ dark chocolate. I ♥ mint. I ♥ the color green and my birthstone is Emerald. This chocolate bar was made for me!

I like to share things with my family to get their input whenever possible. This is the one time I DIDN’T want to share. Not the Menthe bar. Sadly, I gave in to my conscious and shared some of the chocolate bar with them. They could not get enough of it and begged me for me. Sigh… I had to give up most of the Menthe bar. This is the one chocolate that I would love to have tucked away, hidden for everyone else, so I can indulge in a piece from time to time.

The Menthe bar was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! It was by far the best chocolate mint I have ever tasted. The sparkly green “paint” made it even more enjoyable.

Another bar I was sent was the Noisette. It is (or shall I saw WAS) made with Hazelnuts and caramel with a bit of a toffee like taste to it. It was covered in a goldish-yellow sparkly paint.

MMM… this one was hard to describe. I could taste the caramel. It had a buttery taste to it. The Hazelnuts add just a wee bit of a crunch to the chocolate. Just one square was enough to satisfy even your strongest chocolate craving (that is if you could stop at one square). My whole family enjoyed this one too, although the Menthe remained every one’s favorite.

Lastly we had the opportunity to try the Moka chocolate bar. Its made with espresso and crunchy pieces of raw cocoa. The moment my kids and my husband saw the word “espresso” they thought it would taste like coffee (which they don’t like) so they passed on trying it out. Oh boo-hoo. Poor me. I’m the only one who can enjoy this chocolate bar. LOL!

It does have a bit of a coffee taste to it but mostly I taste milk chocolate. When you first try it out you taste milk chocolate but when its done you are left with a bit of a coffee-like taste in your mouth with is fine with me since I love coffee. There is an occasional crunch of raw cocoa, but not too much.

All three bars that I tried from Sulpice were amazing. Each one would make an ideal gift for someone this holiday season, whether its a co-worker, a friend or even your friendly neighborhood bank teller or mechanic. Mostly everyone can appreciate the finer things in life, especially wonderfully delicious gourmet chocolates. These would make the perfect hostess gifts too!

These chocolates would be an elegant dessert for a holiday party. A few pieces and a cup of tea or coffee would make a perfect ending to any day.

Are you having guests sleep over for the holidays? I think it would be a nice gesture to leave a chocolate bar on your guest’s bed for them to enjoy.

    After my first post, I noticed that I was also supposed to add why my choice might be my favorite. I love chocolate and I love coffee. Moka seems like a combo of my two favorite flavors in one bar, so I’m sure I’d enjoy it very much.
