Our daughter is in 10th grade. We’re already talking about things like college. Ugh! It’s a scary thought to send your child off to college. It’s a scary world out there. I’m still trying to help my daughter manage to boil water (I’m not kidding).
I don’t have a child in college yet, but I often think about how my kids would be on their own. Will they have enough to eat? Will they know how to prepare their meals? Will they end up eating out of the vending machine every night?
If there is one thing I know about college students from listening to family members in college is that college kids love snacks. And who would blame them. After studying and attending classes all day long who wouldn’t want to sit back, relax and enjoy some yummy treats.
Parents often like to send their college student care packages. Often they contain treats, supplies and little comforts of home.
If you are the parent of a college student, or student that will be heading off the college in the fall, you should check out the care packages available at RedShip.com.
RedShip.com offers several care package options, including a care package filled with healthier for you treats. Each care package is STUFFED with goodies (and that is no exaggeration). Not only will your college student appreciate all the goodies that come in the RedShip.com care package, I’m sure their dorm mates will too. There is so much include that there is plenty to share if they wanted to.
RedShip.com ships their care packages in tall, red, cardboard shipping tubes. Inside they will find a HUGE laundry bag filled with goodies.
I love the laundry bag. When I say huge I mean HUGE. It can easily hold a few loads of laundry. A laundry bag would come in very handy to help your student do their laundry – or take it home for mom to do for them.
I took a few pictures of the bag. In one of the photos one of my cats got in the way. I decided to use this photo to show you just how big the drawstring laundry bag is compared to a normal size cat.
We kept the cardboard shipping tube that came with the care package I received to review. Our cats enjoyed running through it (we popped off both ends). Sadly it got smashed when my son stepped on it instead of over it. At least the cats had fun with it for a few days.
The shipping tube is VERY sturdy and will ensure that the contents of the care package arrive in one piece and not all smashed up. It just couldn’t hold up to a 130 pound teenage boy. LOL!
The contents of the care packages varies depending on what size you get.
Small: 26 items
Medium: 38 items
Large: 45 items
Extra Large: 55 items
Healthy: 34 items
I was sent a medium care package to review. True to their word my care package included 38 items. Most of them are shown in the pictures below.
There are so many goodies included in this package including Ramen Noodles (a college student’s “staple”), chips, cookies, candy, Nutella spread, cereal and even Poptarts.
One of my favorite goodies that come with every RedShip.com care package is a beautiful bowl and really nice quality chopsticks. The chopsticks are made of plastic and can be washed and reused over and over again.
The fortune cookies that are included in the care package are a nice touch.
What student wouldn’t love a care package like this sent to them? RedShip.com even has an autoship program where you can set up additional deliveries whenever you want at a discounted price (10% off when you order 4-6 care packages).
You can also include a personalized message with each care package.
Packages range in price from $44.95 upwards to $94.95, depending on what size you order. There is a breakdown on the contents for each care package on the RedShip.com website. Each package, no matter how many you order, will always come with the laundry bag, bowl and chopsticks. Your lucky student can keep them or share with their friends.
These care packages are not only great for college students but they would also make great care packages for kids away at camp, shut-ins, people in group homes and nursing home, and even as a “just because” gift for a friend.
I was very impressed with the care package. The contents arrived in great condition. Only the can of Pringles had a few broken pieces, but that is to be expected (they are like that when you buy them in the store too). The homemade cookies tastes fresh. In fact all of the contents that we’re tried so far are fresh. It’s not like they have been sitting around for many months. Even the fortune cookies were fresh.
I love the idea of ordering pre-made care packages, especially ones like RedShip with are stuffed to the max with plenty of goodies that any college student (or anyone) would be thrilled to receive. The laundry bag, bowl and chopsticks are also a useful and will come in handy.
I also really love that for each care package that is purchased, RedShip.com will donate a meal to Feeding America. As someone who has experienced the work that Feeding America has done first hand I can really appreciate that. If you would like to read more about my experiences with FeedingAmerica.org simply enter Feeding America in the search box on my site (upper right side).
RedShip.com would like to give a lucky reader a medium size care package (38 items/$54.95 value). Thank you RedShip.com!
