Did you know that July 11th is All American Pet Photo Day?
There are “days” for so many things. It’s impossible to keep up to date on them.
If you read my blog on a regular basis you know that we have a “mini-zoo” which consists of five cats, a dog who thinks he’s a cat and a Goldfish who fears the cats.
I take A LOT of pictures of our pets. Some of our pets are easier to photograph than others. My cats tend to shy away from the camera and our dog used to always be on the go-go-go so it was not easy to get good photos of him.
Here are just a few of the dozens (if not hundreds!) of photos of our pets.
These are our cats (Padmé , Kitty, Velcro, Bella and Anakin) as well as our Goldfish Fishy (there are two fish in the photo – the white one, Wishy, passed away two years ago).
And then there is our dog Espn. Sadly, he is not doing well. He has something called Hepatocutaneous Syndrome. It’s a liver disease that there is no cure for. Even with aggressive and expensive treatment the best we can hope for is another six month with him. We don’t have the money for the treatments and we rather not have him have to go through twice a week infusions.
Right now he’s home with us. We are hoping and praying that we can at least have the summer with him. Eventually we are going to have to put him down. I hope and pray that day is a long time off. I cannot deal with the idea of putting him down. Even typing it I can feel the tears welling up in my eyes.
We love him dearly. He’s only 9 years old too. He’s not old at all.
If you or anyone you know have (or had) a dog with Hepatocutaneous Syndrome and can shed any light on it and provide us with some hope that would be GREATLY appreciated. In the mean time I would love for people to send well wishes and prayers for a miracle to save our beloved dog and best friend.
One day all we’ll have to remember our beloved Espn by is pictures. Most of our pictures are in our computer and on our external hard drives. I want something more for him.
In honor of All American Pet Photo Day I am getting a framed photo of him from a company called Fidophile. Currently they are only doing photos gifts for dogs.
Fidophile is a simple, easy to use, way to celebrate and honor your beloved furry friend. Simply logon to the website, upload one of your favorite dog photos, choose the breed of your dog, select one of six different beautiful wooden frame options, and within days your personalized photo frame will arrive ready to hang on your wall.
I will be getting one to review. When I’ll do I’ll share my thoughts about the photo, framing and overall quality of the product when it arrives. Be on the look out for that review.

Our daughter’s oldest dog is a Pomeranian that came from a pet rescue organization. A couple who had multiple dogs was divorcing and gave up Bianca for adoption. Bianca was quite old when she was adopted by our daughter. She is a sweet, well-mannered, and loving dog. I know our daughter would love having this photo memento of Bianca.

We have a proverbial zoo at our house, although we are down in numbers. We lost two dogs and one cat over the last 15 months, although we found a tiny feral kitten and have taken her in. I would love to have something like this for each of my furbabies – both past and present. What a wonderful memory piece.

I would love to win this for my son. We lost our 10 year old Aussie 4 months ago and I think my son would love to have a sweet picture like this. We brought Bear home when my son was 2 and the love between them was just beautiful. All of my well wishes are with your family and Espn, it is hard to see our much loved, loyal pets suffer.
