Just in case you didn’t hear about it already, 228 million (yes – MILLION!) eggs are being recalled due to a Salmonella outbreak. So far there has been about 200 cases reported WEEKLY in June and July.
The eggs were distributed and packaged under the names Lucerne, Albertson, Mountain Dairy, Ralph’s, Boomsma’s, Sunshine, Hillandale, Trafficanda, Farm Fresh, Shoreland, Lund, Dutch Farms and Kemp.
Check your eggs just to be on the safe side. I’m not sure what you should do with them other then dispose of them. Please contact the store you purchased them from to find what what they suggest you do.

Thank Goodness I don’t have any of these eggs.
My husband got extreme food poisoning once many years ago and that was so frightening, but it was from bad hamburger meat at the State Fair.
I really feel for any of these people who have gotten sick, especially small children, or the elderly.
I thought there was some new way to pasturize eggs while still in the shell now. Maybe I’m wrong, but I thought I read about it a few months back. If there is I think companies should be doing that. It probably would be more cost efficient for them in the long wrong, as opposed to reimbursing money for bad product. Granted I’m sure they’d pass along the cost to the consumer, but maybe in this case it would be worth it.

Thanks for writing about this Kim-I JUST heard about this yesterday and it made me incredibly happy that I get farm fresh eggs straight from the chickens butt locally. Lol
I just can’t believe all these recalls. It’s really scary!!
