I have never been to a spa before. It’s something I’ve always wanted to try at least once in my lifetime. It’s on my “bucket list.” I haven’t gone to one – yet – because spas can be pricey and I should be more practical with our money (pay off bills), rather than indulge in a spa day. Someday…
Just because I can’t afford to physically go to a spa, that doesn’t mean that I can’t enjoy luxurious, spa-like treatments and products in the comfort of my own home.
We all need to pamper ourselves from time to time. I’m sure many people know what I mean. Take for example getting a new haircut/style or color, or perhaps a manicure/pedicure. Sometimes it’s those little things that can have a big impact. I personally LOVE getting my hair done. I feel like a whole new woman every time I get my hair done (color and cut), even if it’s the same cut and color that I normally get.
Sometimes I come across products that make me feel like I am indulging in a high-end spa. That would be the case with the a body oil I recently received to revie from the brand anokha (yes, it’s spelled with all lower case letters).

I received to review the brands blue lotus body oil.
I’m sure some people might be thinking “why is she so excited about a body oil?” That’s a good question. Let me tell you why. It’s because this is unlike any body oil I have ever tried.
Let’s start with the packaging. The blue lotus body oil comes in a beautiful box. When you open it you see a bottle with what appears to be a royal blue liquid (body oil), but that is only the bottle color (the oil is clear). It’s all reminds me of a fancy perfume more so than a body oil.
This 100% natural, vegan, cruelty-free, physician-formulated body oil offers several benefits.
- It gives an all over healthy glow.
- It helps nourish irritated and dry skin.
- The oil absorbs quickly without leftover residue.
- Blue lotus body oil energizes with yuzu and blue yarrow oils.
I’m always a bit “iffy” when it comes to any kind of oil I use on my skin, face and/or hair. I always worry that a product will make me look and feel greasy. I have used other body oils on my skin in the past and it would just sit on the surface of my skin, taking forever to absorb, so much so I would have to wipe it off before getting fully dressed.
This body oil absorbs super quick. I was very impressed by just how quickly it absorbs into my skin.
I apply it on damp skin when I step out of the shower. I apply it all over (legs, arms, body…).
The benefits are instantly noticed. You do notice a “glow” on your skin. It’s NOT a glitter or shimmer. It’s more so your skin just looks bright and glowing, for lack of a better description.
I tried to take a picture of the oil on one arm compared to another, but the photo didn’t show the difference. Seeing is believing.
My skin feels instantly soft to the touch as soon as I apply this body oil. It’s so soft! Even my elbows feel soft.
I love the scent! It’s such a lovely citrus-like scent (bright and cheery). It doesn’t smell like a lemon or a glass of orange juice. I don’t know what lotus smells like. I was expecting something very floral and tropical. That is not the case (at least in my opinion). It’s a fresh, clean, citrus-like scent. It’s very enjoyable. I’d use this if it was a perfume. It’s a lovely scent for work, running errand or a night on the town.
