Is your child or grandchild a fan of Thomas the Tank Engine and friends? Did you grow up playing with Thomas toys and watching Thomas on TV and on DVD/Blu-ray?
Thomas the Tank Engine first appeared in a book written by Wilbert Vere Awdry as part of the Railway book series.
In 1979, a British writer and producer named Britt Allcroft arranged a deal to bring the stories to life as the TV series Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends, later to be renamed Thomas & Friends.
My son was a fan of Thomas & Friends back when he was a young boy. My son had a train table and we would buy him many of the Thomas and Friends pieces to go along with it, as well as Thomas books and Thomas clothing (he had adorable Thomas pajamas!). Sadly my little boy grew up and no long needed his train table. We ended up donating it to an area library for their children’s section. I hear from one of the librarians every now and then and she tells me that the train table and pieces are very well loved by the children who come to the library. That makes my heart smile.

I took my daughter to meet Thomas when she was little. She’s not 14 and remembers how much fun we had.
