Mother’s Day is this weekend. Have you found the perfect gift for that special lady in your life?
I don’t know what my teens have planned for Mother’s Day. I’ve left them a few hints of what I’d like for Mother’s Day. They are not actually gifts – more so things I’d like.
- A clean home
- A clean car
- Sleep in
- Dinner out (or delivered)
These things don’t necessarily cost money (except dinner). They also might not sound overly exciting, but trust me, it’s what I really want. I am not a fan of cleaning (but I LOVE a clean home). My car is getting a big grungy looking and I have been craving pineapple pizza for weeks.
I know it sounds like a cliché thing to say, but I LOVE handmade gifts from the heart. Those are my favorites.
Over the years some of my most favorite Mother’s Day gifts included a plate that had a photo my daughter drew printed on it. Also, stationary (cards) that featured my son’s artwork (they were professionally printed). I still have them (although they are currently in storage).
My mom passed away 13 years ago. I can’t help but think about her on Mother’s Day too.
I used to always give my mom handmade gifts. She wouldn’t have it any other way. If we bought her anything she would quibble about it.
One thing I think would have make for a great Mother’s Day gift is to go on a mini-trip to some place special. Or if you don’t live near your mom, what about surprising her with an unexpected visit?
Have you ever heard about megabus.com? They are a bus company that travels across the country as well as Canada.
Megabus.com great for weekend getaways, traveling to sporting events, and visiting family out of town – like mom! In fact, megabus.com recently did a survey and the results found that a majority of megabus.com customers miss their moms (64%). Many of those surveyed said that they would cry tears of joy if they were surprised with a trip (53%) or an surprised visit (46%). In addition, the survey also found that more people are planning to go home for Mother’s Day, over a spa or the beach.
Our daughter is in college. She plans on transferring next spring. I can’t imagine what life would be like without her around. I really hope that she is able to come home often, especially on the holidays and Mother’s Day.
What makes megabus.com the perfect choice for surprising mom with an unexpected visit or trip, is that megabus.com offers customers great rates. Fares start at only $1 (plus a reservation fee). Plus they offer FREE WIFI to every passenger, a restroom, comfortable reclining seats and modern buses.
This year marks megabus.com’s 10th Anniversary. To celebrate this milestone, megabus.com has partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant 10,000 trees along megabus.com routes and on college campuses throughout the country over the next year. I think that is a wonderful thing that they are doing.
If you are interested in learning more about megabus.com, or interested in surprising mom with a special trip (or plan a trip to visit mom) go to megabus.com. You can also check them out on social media – Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
What are your plan for Mother’s Day? Will you be visiting your mom to celebrate with her in person?
Have you ever planned a trip as a Mother’s Day gift? If you could, where do you think you and your mom would go?
If you have every used megabus.com, feel free to share your experiences.
