The time has come to look for a “new” used car. My poor little car is on it’s last leg. As much as I love it and I hate the idea of looking for a new car, we have no choice.
My husband and I have been buying used cars since we’ve been married. My husband purchased his last brand new car a few months before we eloped. The only way he was able to get a brand new car was because he was in a car accident (a van sped through an intersection, hit his car and totalled it). It was NOT how we wanted to acquire a new car. Thankfully he was OK.
We’re not ones to frequent used car lots. Instead we prefer to buy used cars from regular car dealerships. We purchased my Mazda from a Chrysler dealer. It was a car that someone used as a trade in. The dealer just wanted to get it off the lot to make room for all the new cars they were getting in, so they gave us a great deal for my car ($2,500).
It’s kind of funny how you can find different kinds of cars at different dealerships. Like a Ford for sale on a Jeep dealer lot. Or a Toyota for sale at a Mercedes Benz dealership. I guess when it comes to used cars a car is a car and the brand doesn’t matter.
I think we’re pros at buying used cars. Maybe I should write up an entire blog post about the “Do’s and Don’t’s” of buying a used car. Humm… that is not a half bad idea! I think I’m going to do that.
Do you purchase used cars? Do you purchase them from dealer lots or used car lots? Do you have any tips or tricks you can share with me? I could use them for a post about buying used cars. Of course I would credit you as the source too.
I’m really liking this idea. Often I’m at a loss as to what to write about. Every now and then a light bulb goes off and I have a great post idea. I think a whole post dedicated to buying a used car is perfect.
Any feedback you can share would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
By the way the stock photos are certainly NOT the kind of used cars you can find. I wish! LOL!
