Happy National Ice Tea Day (June 10, 2014)! Have you had a glass (or two) of a refreshing glass of ice tea yet? I haven’t but I plan on having some shortly. I’m just for it to chill in the fridge (ice tea is best when it’s cold).
If you don’t have a chance to enjoy some ice tea today, don’t worry. June is also National Ice Tea Month so you have all month long to celebrate with one of summer’s most popular beverages.
If you are a fan of tea and ice tea like I am I thought you should know about a delicious ice tea line from a company called Third Street.
Third Street is based in Colorado. They make premium, sustainable beverages. Their newest product line is organic, fair-trade, non-GMO and gluten-free ice teas and lemonades.
Available at Whole Foods stores nationwide, these tasty, low-calorie beverages make for a cooling summer time drink.
Third Street’s new ice teas are available in single-serve, 14 oz., ready-to-drink bottles. They are made with delicious flavors like black and green teas from the lush region of Nilgiri, India. Each tea is then micro-brewed in Colorado, as well as tangy, tart lemonade, and a lemonade and tea blend. New flavors include:
Black Tea
- Unsweetened – Pure black tea that is naturally calorie free.
- Slightly Sweet – Lightly sweetened with fair trade and organic cane sugar.
- Peach – With a hint of juicy organic peach juice and organic cane sugar.
- Raspberry – With a splash of tart raspberry juice and dash of organic cane sugar.
Green Tea
- Unsweetened – Pure green tea that is naturally calorie free.
- Slightly Sweet – Lightly sweetened with fair trade and organic cane sugar.
- Mint & Honey – Blend of organic peppermint and spearmint leaves with a touch of organic honey.
Lemonades
- Pucker Up – The perfect blend of organic lemon juice and fair trade and organic cane sugar.
- Half & Half – A harmonious balance of iced tea and lemonade.
These drinks are great for the calorie conscious too. They range from 0-50 calories per serving. Pucker Up and Half & Half are 80 and 60 calories respectively.
So far I’ve tried Unsweetened Black Tea, Half & Half and a sip of Slightly Sweet Green Tea (my daughter drank the green tea – I only sampled it).
Each one tastes freshly made. It doesn’t taste like other ice teas I have tried from the store. These teas taste like they were just made, which I really like.
I like the Unsweetened Black Tea the best. I drank half the bottle “as is” and squeezed a little lemon juice in the remaining half just to try it out. Both ways were delicious and refreshing.
The Half & Half has a bit of a sour kick to it, but not too bad. After all it’s half lemonade. I expect that in a Half & Half beverages. It reminded me of another popular Half & Half beverage (I won’t mention the brand).
I love the bottles too. I love tigers and I think the colorful tiger graphic is pretty cool looking.
If you are into tea as much as I am be sure to check out Third Street teas the next time you are at your local Whole Foods Market.
