My family and I live in a teeny, tiny condo. We don’t have room for us let alone our stuff. Even though space is limited it doesn’t mean that I don’t want to decorate my home and make it warm and inviting, not only for my family but also for visitors.
I have an “eye ” for decorating sometimes. In fact I think I could do a good job as a window dresser (someone who decorates store windows for the different holidays/seasons) or an interior decorator for homes.
I used to work for my brother in law as an office helper. He had two big, beautiful windows. One Christmas I set up a display in both windows. People loved how much it looked that they would stop into the office just to compliment on how nice the windows looked. 🙂
I found one photo (I covered up the business name for obvious reasons).
This is going back to the mid-80’s. I could do so much better with all the fun holiday goodies available these days.
I try to make my home look nice year round.
When we had our home on the market and had to pack up all of things to make our place look less “cluttered” we removed all of our pictures and artwork from the walls so that people could imagine their family photos on the walls. It also made it easier for us to repaint our walls.
Sadly our pictures and artwork were packed away. All of our boxes are in my father’s basement. There are way too many to go through. We’ll probably never find the things that once adorned our walls.
For years I have had to endure looking at blank walls. I HATE BLANK WALLS! It drives me nuts. It’s so boring.
Slowly I’ve been adding artwork to our walls again. I never seem to find anything at local stores so I tend to look online for the “perfect” piece.
There is a site called Graham & Brown that has a beautiful assortment of wall art and dĂ©cor to choose from. I’m fortunate that the company let me pick out something to review.
It honestly took me a few days to scroll through all the available options before I selected the piece I wanted. That is how many options they have on their site. They have every possible design, style and color you can imagine.
Graham & Brown is probably better known for their wonderful assortment of wallpaper.
We don’t use wallpaper in our condo, but I do see several options on the Graham & Brown site that could sway me to put wallpaper up on our walls someday. We didn’t do it before now because we figured our place would show better with painted walls since paint is easier to change then wallpaper.
I love their retro designs.
They have hundreds of designs to choose from. If/When we ever opt to add wallpaper to our home, Graham & Brown will be my first stop to look for either wallpaper or inspiration/ideas.
I was looking for artwork to add to our blank and boring walls. I wasn’t sure what kind I wanted – animal, quote, abstract, landscape or nature. That is why it took me days (literally) to pick something out. I must have had a dozen things on my list.
I finally settled on a canvas 3-piece wall art set of a beach scene. I don’t know what it was about the photo that I connected with. I guess it’s because the scene is so peaceful looking and I wish I could jump inside the picture and be at that beach.
I was concerned that trying to get all three pieces leveled and spaced out enough would give my husband a headache but it was easy and he had them hanging up in about 5 minutes.
I’ll admit that it took MONTHS before my husband finally got around to doing (yes – MONTHS!). I wasn’t sure which room I wanted to hang the up in. Originally it was the bathroom but the canvas is taller then I imagined they would be and in order to hang them above the towel rod (where I had originally planned to put them) the canvas prints would have to be close to the ceiling and it didn’t look right.
My next thought was the dining room but it just didn’t seem to fit there. So I decided to put them in the living room above the love seat. Sadly it too months before my husband would get around to it. I would have done it myself but I don’t like standing on ladders or furniture (I have a fear of falling off of them).
FINALLY my husband got around to hanging up ALL of our artwork and pictures. Yeah! Now my home feels “complete” again.
I wish the photo turned out nicer but here is our artwork from Graham & Brown.
Our walls are painted in a safe green. It’s a brighter green then it appears in the above photo. The color is also off on the print a bit NOT on the actual canvas but in the photo I took.
I was going to take a distance picture with the print above the love seat but the love seat is the cat’s domain and the furniture cover on it is currently covered in hair (I need to brush it then toss it in the wash. I didn’t want to take a picture of that. Gross!
This lovely THREE piece canvas set is $59 on the Graham & Brown website. If you have ever purchased or priced canvas artwork you know it’s not that cheap. The $59 price tag on this piece of wall art is very “doable”.
All three canvas pieces are made well and the beach scene is very realistic looking (the image and colors are MUCH better in person then in the above photo).

Absolutely gorgeous tryptic! I’m jealous! I love the scene and always wanted one over my bed. I never did it because I can’t see it when I’m in bed, and I don’t have enough wall room to put it anywhere else. :-p
