I don’t have a green thumb. I WISH I did because I know plants help to clean the air that we breath, and they can increase the oxygen levels in your home. Not only do I care about the air that I breath, and my family, but we also have a cat with severe asthma, and improving the air quality for her is of upmost importance too (we have multiple air purifiers just for her).
With four adult cats and two kittens, I also have be VERY careful about the types of plants that I bring into my home. Just a few minutes ago one of our kittens was next to me on my desk chewing on a fake Christmas tree decoration. Need I say more?
I do the best I can to keep plants alive. Whenever I have a plant that needs a little TLC or “medical attention,” I bring it to my neighbor. He’s like the “plant whisperer.” I swear he can bring plants on the brink of death back to life. His home reminds me of the Amazon jungle – plants EVERY WHERE. I’m surprised there is room in his home for him to life and function. Ha Ha.
If you want to adorn your home with plants, most of us go to our local grocery store (depending on the time of year) or garden center to find ideal plants for your home. The problem is that they are not always the best quality of plants (especially the ones at the grocery store), and it’s not always easy to find a specific plant that you might have in mind for your home. That is where the company Plants by Post comes in.
Plants by Post is a family-owned and operated modern nursery that makes it their mission to make all kinds of plants accessible to everyone. Located within the stunning nature of Northern California, Plants By Post utilizes the latest plant knowledge and modern greenhouse designs to provide the highest quality plants you’ll ever see. From small, unique indoor houseplants to large orders of flowers for all your landscaping needs, Plants by Post is guaranteed to brighten your home, yard, and mood in just one petal. Shop Plants By Post for the best selection of plants delivered right to your door.
I’m not a plant expert by any means, but when I told my neighbor about Plants by Post, he was very intrigued. He said there are a few plants he really wants to get (as if he has room for them), that he can’t find at local plant nurseries. It’s also hard to shop for anything right now because our two more local plant nurseries are currently closed until March.
Plants by Post was kind enough to send me some plants to check out for myself. They sent me to review a Haworthia and Echeveria Succulent set. Succulents are ideal for me since I am not exactly great with plants. Succulents need very little care. They also also simple, yet so pretty, at the same time.
Both plants are pet friendly too!
Haworthia plants are native to South Africa, and Echeveria plants are native to the desert regions of South America. Needless to say, I wouldn’t be buying these plants directly from these countries.
I have seen both of these plants before, but I didn’t know anything about them. I did know that they were succulents based on their looks.
The plants arrived very well packaged and looking fresh and alive. I was pleasantly surprised since you would think shipping plants would kill them, or at least make them unhealthy during their trip from Plants by Post’s warehouse to your front door. It’s also been very cold, and there is no telling how long they stayed on the delivery truck(s).
Both plants came in pretty, black pots that would go with any home décor.
Plants by Post allows you to shop by categories such as size, the amount of light they would need, difficulty of caring for them and so forth. Of course, if you know the exact plant you are looking for, you can do a search for it using the search option found at the top of the website (upper right).
There are so many plants available on their website. You can even choose the type of pot you want them in, so they can make your home’s décor.
Some plants obviously have to be planted in the ground, but others can be kept inside your home (such as the succulents).
Plants by Post also sells herb plants, so you can have fresh herbs to use in your recipes. If I had more space in my home, and better sunlight, I would love to have herbal plants so I could add them to my recipes. My dream is to have a house with a decent yard so I can plant my favorite flowers, lilac bushes and a garden where I could plant fruits, vegetables and herbs.
If you are near Campbell, California you can even book Plants by Post to decorate your event (wedding, dinner party, corporate event). In addition to that, Plants by Posts even sells party favors. They have the cutest succulent party favor set for $20.00 – $25.00. The next time I am hosting an event, I would love to give out little succulent plants. I think that is a lot more useful than candy or a shot glass (yes, I got a shot glass as a party favor. I threw it out. I had no need for it).
Plants by Post also offers gift cards. The gift card, or even some plants, would make a great gift for the holidays, birthday, anniversary or any other special occasion. I think a gift card would be appreciated for new homeowners or newlyweds so they can adorn their new home or apartment with some lovely plants.
