Halloween is about 4 weeks away! Ugh! It seems like yesterday the kids were coloring Easter eggs.
What do your kids plan on dressing up as? Our son really had no interest in trick-or-treating anymore. If we bought him a bag of candy he’d be happy. I guess he’s outgrowing Halloween already?
Our daughter is older and she cannot make up her mind what she wants to go as. She had an idea of wearing her Elmo hoodie and looking for Sesame Street character pants, socks and jewelry and going out as “Sesame Street”. LOL! At least she’s creative.
Growing up my mom rarely let me buy a costume. Of course back then we had those horrible plastic masks and pretty much nothing more. Instead of purchasing a costume I’d have to make up my own. Let me tell you, I was creative! One year my best friend dressed up in a long, black gown, put on a lot of make up and wore a lot of rhinestone jewelry (bling!). I dressed up in a little girl’s dress, put my hair in pig tails and walked around with a wire hanger and a bottle of Ajax. We went as Joan Crawford and her daughter Christina. LOL! I told you that we were creative.
There is a list of some interesting costume ideas on a site called ConsumerSearch.com. I thought my readers might find the article useful, http://www.consumersearch.com/blog/where-to-go-for-diy-halloween-costume-ideas.
ConsumerSearch.com is a website that reports the truth about what experts and consumers are saying about a variety of products, ranging from laptops to backpacks. ConsumerSearch.com scours the Internet and print publications for comparative reviews which are analyzed and ranked according to how credible they are.
So tell me, what are your kids going to be for Halloween? I always love to hear about the creative costumes people come up with. I also love to see the little ones come to our door all dressed up in their cute little costumes.

I LOVE your Mommy Dearest idea! That was always a favorite movie of mine and my Moms! Great idea!
One of my favorite Home made costumes was one I made for my little sis, we made her a party table, lol!
I cut out a big circle out of cardboard, with a circle in the middle for her head ( the centerpiece), and I used a Halloween tablecloth, plates, cupts, etc to decorate. Then I got a bunch of candy and glued it on, added some confetti and glitter and it was a HUGE hit!
My sis still can’t believe how many people liked it, but it was the most original costume at the party she was at, and it was SO easy to make!
