Energizer Ultimate Photo Contest (Giveaway)

I love photography. Not only is taking photos a passion of mine, I also love to view the photos from others. I have three different photo books on my coffee table. I especially love photos of scenery (mountains, lakes, ocean…).

Twelve amazing photographers from across the country have just been named Category Finalists in the 2010 Energizer Ultimate Photo Contest with National Geographic. They are now one step closer to their “shot” at greatness—the Grand Prize Winner will receive a trip of a lifetime to the Greek Isles and will see his or her photo appear in the pages of National Geographic magazine in an ad for Energizer® Ultimate Lithiumbatteries. WOW! I wish I could win a prize like that. I don’t know which would mean more to me, seeing my photo in the pages of National Geographic magazine, or a trip to the Greek Isles. Its been a life long dream of mine to be published. I honestly thing I would be more excited about seeing my photo in the magazine.

From now through Sept. 15, 2010 people can go to www.nationalgeographic.com/lithium to view the gallery of Category Finalist photos and to select their favorite in each category. The Finalist who receives the most votes in his or her category will advance to becoming a Category Winner. The six Category Winners will enter a round of judging by Jim Richardson, National Geographic photographer and judge for the Energizer Ultimate Photo Contest. Richardson who will determine the Grand Prize Winner, to be announced on or about Nov. 4, 2010.  

You should really check them out. Most of the photos are beyond amazing.

The photos appearing in this post are some other random photos that were submitted over the years. As you can see they are incredible photos.

In order to encourage readers to vote for their favorite picture, Energizer would love to award a lucky reader with two four-packs of Energizer® Ultimate Lithium AA batteries and two four-packs of Energizer® Ultimate Lithium AAA batteries. As you well know you can never have too many batteries, especially if you have children and/or a lot of electronics. With the holidays fast approaching I’m sure the batteries will come in handy too.

This giveaway is open to US residents only and will end on September 9, 2010 at 11:59 PM (EST). The winner will be chosen at random using a random number generator from all eligible entries. The winner will be notified via e-mail and will have three days to reply with a name and mailing address or a new winner will be chosen.

  1. Let’s be honest, all of the photos are amazing. I am in awe of what they were able to capture with their cameras. That said I really liked the Placid Awe in the Weather. Amazing to see just what a tornado looks like.

  5. AMAZING photos…I voted in each category.
    My favorite was in the wildlife section and is of the Eagles feeding their young. It was appropriately titled “By the Sweat of Thy Brow.”

  27. awesome photos, I had to vote for all 6 categories! I love the AnaCapa arch photo, the way that it is taken with the underwater view as well is awesome!
