Do you have pets (specifically a dog or cat)? What kind of food do you feed them? Do you feed them dry, canned or both?
Have you ever fed your pet fresh food? One of our former neighbors only fed her dog fresh food. I think that is wonderful. I would love to do that for my pets but with five cats and a dog that is easier said then done, especially when it comes to the cats since they tend to eat at different times.
Our youngest cat, Bella, has sever asthma. Before it was officially diagnosed I thought she had some kind of a food allergy. She would wheeze a lot after eating. I was on a mission to find a food that didn’t make her wheeze. I tried just about every food I found at PetSmart and Petco – grain free, GMO free, loaded with fruits and veggies – even the most expensive foods I could find and nothing stopped her from wheezing. These days the only way to stop her from having asthma attacks is her inhalers (actual people inhalers given through a special device called an AeroKat).
One of the foods we tried that she LOVES is Freshpet. Have you tried this food with your pet yet?
Freshpet is a line of natural, freshly made pet foods. They have to be kept in the refrigerator since they are fresh.
Our cat loves the Freshpet brand Vital cat food. It’s made with real beef and chicken, real vegetables and real fruit. It’s also grain free. After all, why put grains in cat food, or dog food for that matter. In the wild do you see dogs and cats chowing down on wheat? Of course not!
We’ve only tried the Freshpet Vital with our one cat. One day I’d like to try different Freshpet products with our other cats and dog too.
Freshpet is excited to announce the #FreshDance Challenge. Freshpet knows our pets dance to celebrate fresh food. Let’s follow their lead for wellness, and get dancing.
Our dog dances whenever he knows he’s going to get fed. He’s in need of being groomed so his nails are a bit longer than usual so when he dances in the kitchen it sounds like he’s tap dancing. It’s funny.
Here is a little more information about the contest.
Taking time out of the day to get moving is beneficial for both our minds and bodies, and doing this with our pets is a great way to get healthy together. So, Freshpet is asking you to do a little experiment with us, and show us you and your pets’ dance moves before, during, or after any meal. Then, share a photo, video, or text of your #FreshDance experience- the point is to get active and feeling good.
“We know that fresh food isn’t only healthier for our families, it tastes better too. The Fresh Dance Challenge highlights how pets naturally celebrate fresh meals.” says Scott Morris, Co-Founder and President of Freshpet. “We are excited to contribute to the Pet Therapy Research at Vanderbilt University, because we know first-hand the wellness benefits pets give us each day.”
