Video games have come a long, long way since when I was a youth. Growing up I had an Intellivision set. I wanted to get an Atari, but my mom bought me Intellivision.
I have to admit I was addicted to playing games on my Intellivision set. I had a ridiculously high score on Astrosmash because I played non-stop for HOURS one day.
Some of my favorite games to play were Astrosmash, Utopia, Major League Baseball, Carnival, Centipede and Stampede to name a few.
This is the way video games used to look when I was a kid.
And this is what they look like today.
I am in total awe of today’s video games. They are incredibly realistic. It’s like you are literally watching things unfold right before your eyes and not on a television screen (tablet or smart phone).
One such game is Farming Simulator 15. It was released last month.
I’m not a “gamer.” Sadly we don’t even have a video game console except our Wii that we’ve had since it came out and we haven’t touched it in years. My husband keeps talking about getting an Xbox or PS, but every time he thinks about picking one up and a few games to go with it something always pops up (dog needs grooming, car needs tires…). One day we’ll get a new gaming system.
This is what I do know about Farming Simulator 15.
Farming Simulator is a worldwide bestselling franchise. In the new addition, Farming Simulator 15, players will develop and manage their own farm over two huge environments – a NEW Nordic environment, as well as a renovated American farm. The game invites you to create the farm of your dreams – planting and harvesting crops, breeding animals, selling fresh produce in a local market, and taking part in the NEW activity exclusive to Farming Simulator 15 – woodcutting! This new industry can take your farm to the next level, as you use new tools and machinery dedicated to this new trade. You will also have access to over 125 real-world tractors and farming vehicles from well-known brands like New Holland, Case IH, Deutz-Fahr, and more.
I’ve Googled this game and even found a few YouTube videos about it.
WOW! I’m not kidding when I say this game is so realistic you’ll feel like you are on the farm. I really want to try this game out in person.
What I really like about this game is that it’s not a “bang-bang-shoot-’em-up” type of game. It’s not violent. There are zombies or aliens trying to blow your head off or eat you. There is not beating people up or blowing up cars and buildings. It’s just a calm, casual, dare I say even relaxing game.
It looks to me like a game people of all ages can enjoy.
My son enjoys games where he can drive vehicles around. He plays a few on his phone via apps, but he too would like a gaming console so he could play games on the television. I’ve showed him Farming Simulator 15 and he loves it. It’s exactly the type of game he would like to play. Now we just have to get the console.
Farming Simulator 15 is available on the following platforms – Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and PS4.
Check out this trailer for the game.
Seriously, how cool is this game? I love it!
