Anyone who knows me personally knows how crazy I am about anything that can make my home smell amazing. Plugins, sprays, wax melts, reed diffusers… you name it, I’ll use it.
One of my most favorite ways to scent our home is with candles. I LOVE candles. My husband jokingly refers to me as a “candle-o-holic.” If you look inside our cabinets and my closet, you would agree with him. I love candles so much that I have amassed a nice collection.
I prefer candles that smell “real.” By that I mean they do not smell artificial. That to me is the biggest “turn off” when it comes to candles. In addition, I like candles that have a nice “throw” to them. I normally burn candles on the kitchen counter – away from our cats (occasionally I do burn them in the living room or at my desk). I like candles that I can smell in the next room. Often with candles I don’t smell them unless I’m in the same room as the candle, or worse yet, I can’t smell them unless I am standing over it.
I recently received to review a lovely candle from the brand NoaLux. NoaLux offers candles, room sprays, jewelry and more.
I received to review one of their new fall scents (my favorite kind) called Another Pumpkin. I don’t even see it on their site yet.
Another Pumpkin contains the scents of pumpkin, all spice and brown sugar. Even before smelling it, I had a feeling it was going to smell great just based on the scents it’s made with.
My initial through the first time I smelled the candle (before lighting it) was baby powder, believe it or not. Not baby powder in the true sense, but that was my initial thought. But you could tell there was something more to it. Even my husband agreed when he smelled it the first time.
It wasn’t until after I burned the candle and set the aroma waif through the air did I really get a sense of what the candle’s true scent was. It actually smells different when it’s burning compared to when it’s not. I don’t know how the brand accomplished that. I find it very interesting, in a good way.
I keep the candle on my desk, so even when it’s not burning, I can smell it.
As far as the true scent (what you smell when it’s burning) – WOW!
It’s hard to explain. You can smell a spiciness to it, with a kiss of pumpkin. It’s not like pumpkin candles/scents you might be used to. If I didn’t know what scents were in this, pumpkin would not come to mind right away. The scent doesn’t “scream” pumpkin.
This might sound like an odd way of describing this scent – but it smells like a fall scent you would experience in a high end store or salon. It has a richness to it. It’s a very post scent. I could sell myself shopping in a store where they sell Coach and Prada bags while smelling this intoxicating scent.
When I close my eyes I think of some place fancy when smelling this candle. Then I open my eyes and see our son’s shoes, “tumbleweeds” (cat hair blowing across the floor) and dust on the television stand. It’s almost like this scent has a “Calgon” effect where it takes your mind way. Ha Ha.
The throw on this candle is decent. Our living room is large, and I can smell it on the other end of the living room.
The candle it’s self is beautiful. It comes in a large, glass jar with a bit of an iridescence to it. Even the box is shiny and iridescent.
The candle has a wood wick too. That means it’s clean burning.
The candles are made with phthalate and paraben-free fragrance oils.
The 12-ounce candles have a sixty (60) hour burn time. That is a long time!
The beautiful candle, the amazing scent and even the awesome looking box would make these candles a great gift, specially for people like me who are crazy for candles.
I’m looking forward to enjoying this candle all season (fall) long. Although the way I’ve been using it (daily) it might not even make it to September.
