Summer time is a time is the best time of year for families to spend quality time with one another before it’s time for the kids to go back to school or college. Some families look forward to a vacation getaway. Other families enjoy lounging around by their backyard pool or enjoying the company of family and friends with a barbecue.
Summer is a great time to get outside and enjoy some fresh air too (please make sure to wear sunscreen!). You an go swimming, ride bikes, go camping, blow bubbles, color the sidewalk in chalk… there is so much you can do.
There is a new game recently released by Sea Turtle Sports that can add to your outdoor fun. It’s called Turtle Toss. No… you don’t toss turtles, but you do get to toss colorful bean bags.
Turtle Toss challenges players to score in three different size holes, with the highest points awarded to tosses into the smallest hole. And we added a new dimension to the game: barrel/can shaped bags that expand the range of possible shots. Toss straight overhand or underhand; or add a barrel “roll” to your arsenal with some spin off your fingertips. Use your imagination. You can tweak the rules to fit your mood and level of play.
Turtle Toss comes with a playing “board” that is super easy to set up. Simply straighten out the legs. That’s it! You can have the game out of the carrying bag and ready to play in about a minute or two. It’s so simple that even kids can easily set it up.
In addition the playing “board” the game comes with eight colorful bean bags and a carrying bag making this a great game to take with you on the go. It’s also a nice size so it can easily fit into your trunk. It’s also lightweight so it’s easy to tote around on to the beach, when camping and even to your backyard.
I was sent a Turtle Toss set to try out with my family. We don’t have a yard but we do visit the grandparents often and they have a big yard. We are also trying to set up a family reunion and plan on taking Turtle Toss with us to enjoy with our cousins and other relatives. Turtle Toss can be played with 2-4 plays. Just make sure to divide the bean bags equally.
I like that you can make up your own game with Turtle Toss. You don’t necessarily have to follow the instructions/rules that come with the set.
It’s not as easy as it looks. If you throw too hard the bean bag can actually “bounce” off of the playing board. The board is a bit “springy” so things bounce a bit when it lands on it. You can also accidentally bounce another players bean bag into a hole and they can score points.
Turtle Toss can be enjoyed by little kids, teens and adults. Even my hard to impress teenagers enjoyed the game. Once you get the hang of tossing the bean bags the game can get really exciting.
I love that the game can be stored in a carrying bag and it’s easy to set up and take down. This is a fun on the go game. You can enjoy it year round too. I think this could be set up and enjoyed in a finished basement, hallway or any place where you’ll have ample room to toss the bean bags and a place where nothing will get broken in case someone tosses too far or in the wrong direction.
I think this would make a great activity/game for a school gym (it’s a great indoor, rainy day activity), summer camp and day care too. Even your college bound student can tote this off the college with them to strike up a game of Turtle Toss with classmates in the school yard.
Turtle Toss can be purchased online at the Sea Turtle Toss website – SeaTurtleSports.com/Turtle-Toss. You can also find the game on Amazon.com.
You can find the brand on social media too. Their links are found on the bottom of their website.
The game might be a bit pricey for some people’s budgets, but it’s the kind of game that would get played and enjoyed over and over again so it would be worth the price. Plus your kids or grandchildren can enjoy it even when they get older.
Sea Turtle Sports would like to give a lucky reader their own Turtle Toss game (a $142.95 value!). Thank you Sea Turtle Sports.
