Do you suffer from dry, itchy skin? It happens to everyone at one point or another. Dry skin can occur from sunburn, bug bites and even from the weather (winter time is the worse for me).
There are many over the counter products you can use, but none seem to cover all the bases. You might find a product to moisturize the skin, but not deal with the itch or discomfort. Or find a product for the itch but doesn’t help with your skin.
Sarna Original lotion is ideal for dry, itchy skin. This steroid-free product is designed to soothe the itch associated with sunburn and/or dry winter skin via a cooling combination of menthol and camphor. Sarna is essential for any beach bag or weekend skiing trip. It’s also great to keep on hand in your home.
Sarna Original contains two active ingredients known for their great itch relief – Menthol and Camphor. These two ingredients offer soothing relief from dry skin, insect bites, sunburn, poison ivy/oak/sumac, and winter.
Winter time is the WORSE time for my skin. It’s not even officially fall yet and already my skin is drying out. It’s as if the moment the calendar was changed to September 1st my skin instantly started to dry out. I hate that. I wish I knew how to prevent it from happening in the first place. Not only do I find it uncomfortable, but the itch drives me nuts!
In a competitive study between SARNA and 1% Hydrocortisone cream (often recommended to help control itches), patients preferred SARNA. They especially liked the ease of application, absorption, smell and moisturization.
Here are what a few people had to say about SARNA.
I love this product and have been a faithful user for three plus years – Ming, Facebook fan and loyal customer.
A few people recommended SARNA so I went out and got it. It works! My legs feel cool and calm instead of twitchy and itchy. Thanks SARNA! – Rosanna, Facebook liker and SARNA user.
I received a bottle of SARNA Original and SARNA Sensitive to review.
SARNA Sensitive provides maximum-strength relief without a prescription (1% pramoxine hydrochloride). This is a non-irritating, fragrance free formula that contains additional emollients which makes ideal for relieving itch associated with dry skin, sensitive skin and eczema prone skin. It contains pramoxine hydrochloride for fast, effective itch relief.
I have eczema. It drives me bonkers sometimes. I used to only get it on my hands but now I get it on my face, scalp, back of my neck and back. I get it year round but it’s a million time worse during the colder weather months. Right now I have it on the back of my neck, back and along my hair line (where your “side burns” would be). I’m not sure about using this product on my face and I don’t think I can use it on my scalp, but I have been using it on my back and neck (thanks to my hubby’s help).
Ahhhh… it feels so good when he applies it to my back and neck. It truly is soothing. It seems to hold off the itch for a long time, so it’s not necessary to re-apply frequently. Lately my hubby has helped me to apply it in the AM before he leaves for work and in the PM when I change into my night shirt and get ready for bed. It helps me to sleep better too not having to wiggle around in bed to try and scratch my back.
I like that it’s steroid free too. I have prescription cream for my eczema that has steroids in it and I hate using it. My prescription medication doesn’t contain a moisturizer. It’s just for the itch.
I have used both products (Original and Sensitive). I tend to prefer the sensitive version more so because it’s fragrance free. The original is not bad. The scent is kind of gross the first time you put it on but it eventually grows on you. It has a medicinal-type of scent to it. It’s hard to describe.
When you apply either lotion you get the initial impression that it’s not going to absorb quickly. It seems a bit too “wet” but it does absorb quickly. It leaves your skin feeling smooth and soft too. It doesn’t leave it greasy or feel like there is a weird residue on your skin.
SARNA was even mentioned in a “how to” video about packing.
If you suffer from daily dry, itchy skin or if you tend to get sunburned or dry skin during the winter months, then you should certainly consider giving SARNA a try.
Look for SARNA at a grocery store or drug store near you.

I really need to try this and found a $2 off coupon on their facebook page. I just use a Target brand anti-inch, so this should work even better.

I have used Sarna for years…. my dermatologist first recommended it to me – I have sensitive skin so I break out in rashes frequently, plus I have eczema. I keep a bottle of this, always.
