I often come across really great web sites, many of which I love to share in case someone else might be interested.
Here is a great site to help you reach the goals you have set for yourself in 2009 (some might say “resolutions”, I prefer to say “goals”). Even if you haven’t set any goals for yourself yet this site will be very helpful for when you do.
The site is called “Goal For It” (click here to visit the site). It’s a FREE service that helps you to manage and keep track of your goals.
The site is really easy to use and you can set your goals in three very simple steps. Your goals can be made public, kept private or make them viewable by only your friends. I have learned over the years that if you tell others what your goals are it holds you accountable to see that you reach your goals. Sometimes we need to share them with others because other people can help you to reach your goals too. I think that is more effective then keeping them all to yourself.
A great feature of this site is that you can set it up to send you reminders too. That is a great tool to have to help keep you on track.
I love the fact that you can browse the goals others have set in the community, learn what their action plans are and be inspired by others when they reach their goals. Goals set by people in the Goal For It community are separated by categories so you can find people with similar goals as you have for yourself. You can even select the age range of community members, search for male or female and even people near to where you live. It’s a great way to connect with people with the same goals and together you can come up with ways of helping each other to stay on track and reach your goals.
I looked over some of the goals in the community and found people who are interested in finding more ways to volunteer, learn Italian, “Go Green”, spend more time with family, attend church each week, and go back to school. The list goes on and on.
Goal For It even has a special section for children. You can chose from 30 goals and chores for children. Since they are only accessible from the parent’s account they are always kept private. You can even assign “Moolah” points to the goals and chores which can “spent” on rewards that you create.
This is a really neat site and I’m going to set myself up with some goals on Goal For It. I thought others might be interested in this site as well.
