My mini-photo gallery consisting of canvas prints. I took all of these photos.
Many years ago, my family and I had our condo on the market. We were hoping to sell it so we could move to a bigger home upstate. We did find a buyer, and we did find a home to move to, but it didn’t pan out, and we gave up and decided just to stay where we are.
The real estate agent told us to purge our home of a lot of stuff. While we understand how you want to show potential buyers how roomy a home is, for the life of us, we couldn’t understand why we had to remove photos of our family. The agent told us it was because you want potential buyer to picture photos of THEIR family on the walls and furniture, not our family. Sadly, we had to remove all photos from our home until we took our place off the market. I was happy to put our photos back up.
For me, seeing photos around a home of the people who live there make a home more “inviting, “and “homey.” I know a lot of people have told me that they agree with me.
I love putting up photos of my family around my home. It always makes my heart smile when I glance at a family photo that brings back wonderful memories. I especially love to look at baby and child photos of my kids, who are now in their early 20’s. Oh where has the time gone..?
If you enjoy decorating your home with photos of your family and friends, you should check out the website Mpix. Mpix has many beautiful photo products that would add some fun and special décor to your home. They also make great gifts.
One of my favorite offerings at Mpix are their Statuettes. Statuettes are 3-D photos. Mpix take your photo and turn them in to three dimensional statues. Here are a few examples.
I REALLY wanted to make some for each of our cats. I just haven’t been able to decide on which images to use. I also wanted to make these for our other cats and dog who passed away a few years ago. We have their ashes in decorative boxes on the bookcase. I would love to have a statuette of their image to place beside their boxes. I think that would be a beautiful tribute to them.
I think statuettes take photos to the next level. Who needs boring old photo frames when you can bring your photos to life with a 3-D statuette.
Another really cool product Mpix offers are personalize banners. I think this would be such a fun way to commemorate a special occasion, like a graduation, wedding or birthday. I also think it would be fun to make one of these for a child who was into sports (for example). Imagine who excited a child would be to see their images (for example playing baseball) on their very own banner they could hang up in their room. I think that is a wonderful idea.
Mpix personalized banners are available in different sizes and shapes.
My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary a few months ago. I had some acrylic blocks made up from Mpix. I uploaded a photo of our wedding day (we eloped), our 25th Anniversary dinner and a random photo of the two of us (date night).
The photos (below) are not as good as they could be. The lighting inside our home is NOT “picture taking friendly.” These acrylic blocks are BEAUTIFUL in person and the colors are vibrant. There is also a glare on them from the light coming in through the window.
The close up photo (the first one) also shows some lint or cat hair (I didn’t notice when I took the photo). The actual block/acrylic is blemish free.
I keep the three block on top of our television stand. I look at them every day.
The acrylic blocks are so nice. They are much thicker than I expected too.
The acrylic blocks are so clear that they look like they are made out of glass.
I think they almost give the photos a 3-D quality to them too. The picture below shows how it looks from above.
I was worried that the photos I used wouldn’t look that clear on the blocks, but they look perfect. I couldn’t be more pleased with how they turned out.
You could use these blocks to decorate around your home in place of framed photos. I think you could also use them for things like a paperweight.
Mpix carries many other photo products such as calendars, canvas prints, metal prints, posters, photos books, dog tags, luggage tags, blankets, mugs, ornaments and more.
Photos also make great gifts. With Mother’s Day and Father’s Day fast approaching, as well as June being wedding season, there are plenty of wonderful gift options to be found at Mpix. Gift cards are also available so the giftee can purchase whatever photo gift they would like.
If you would like to check out all that they have to offer, visit Mpix.com. The brand can also be found on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. Those links are found on the bottom right of the brand’s website.
What do you think about the photo options at Mpix?
