I’m happy to announce that for the next few months I’ll be working as a brand ambassador for Arnold®/Brownberry®/Oroweat® breads.
Some people might wonder why there are three different names. That is because the brand has different names for different parts of the country.
Here on the East coast (I’m in NY) we have Arnold breads. In other parts of the country the brand goes by either Oroweat or Brownberry. It’s the same delicious breads, just a different name.
Why did I want to become a brand ambassador for Arnold®/Brownberry®/Oroweat®? It’s because I enjoy their breads and they offer such an amazing variety of better for you breads and sandwich breads.
My teenager daughter LOVES the Arnold®/Brownberry®/Oroweat® Sandwich Thins. She eats them every day for lunch at school. Her favorite is the 100% Whole Wheat variety. I love that she enjoys a whole wheat product. Whole wheat is much better for you than white bread.
Speaking of “better for you”, did you know that September is Self Improvement Month? People are encouraged to take stock of their live, health and well being and look for ways to better themselves, not only on a physical level but also an emotional and spiritual level too. Wellness encompasses so many areas of your life.
I know I need to make some improvements in my life. Most especially to eat better and exercise more. I also need to “de-stress”. I stress over EVERYTHING – literally. I stress about things months away! How pathetic is that? I have to go to North Carolina for the day next month (fly down early in the AM and fly home that same evening). I don’t know why I’m stressing about it now, but I am!
Another area I need to work on is sleep. I rarely have a good night’s sleep. I probably get on average about 4 hours of sleep each night. Then after dinner I almost always end up falling asleep for another hour or two. It has my system totally messed up!
This September I am going to focus on eating better. When you eat better, you feel better. And when you feel better it gives you the nudge that you need to do other things like exercise. Feeling better also improves your mood. I find it uplifting. When you are happy and content that helps to elevate unnecessary stress. It’s all inter-connected.
Allison Sweeney, from Days of Our Lives and The Biggest Loser, is a spokesperson for Arnold®/Brownberry®/Oroweat®. She has some great tips that I will be sharing with you over the next few months. I’ll share a tip with each post.
Allison’s first tip is…
Tip #1 – Feel your best with better food. Find meals that go the distance, like a well-built sandwich. Sandwiches make it easy to get the nutritional benefits that will help you feel great. Try Arnold®/Brownberry®/Oroweat® 100% Whole Wheat Bread topped with lean protein and veggies to help boost your performance during a workout.
Allison feels the same way that I do. When you eat better you feel better. It’s so true! Healthy foods make you feel healthy. Junk foods make you feel sluggish, tired and “blah” all the time. Which type of food do you want to help “fuel” your body? Healthy foods of course!
I’m not saying you need to give your kitchen a complete over haul and toss out all the junk foods. What you should do is make small changes every day. It’s about making conscious choices. For example, don’t reach for white bread to make your sandwich. Instead reach for something like 100% Whole Wheat or another kind of whole grain. Arnold®/Brownberry®/Oroweat® have so many different varieties you wouldn’t have to worry about getting bored with a certain flavor/variety.
This month I have been making a conscious effort to select better for you foods. For example, I am opting to buy low fat and/or low sodium cold cuts. I swapped out my regular imported Swiss with reduce sodium Swiss and regular roasted turkey breast with a low sodium turkey breast. Instead of white bread I have been using Arnold® breads like Whole Grains Health Nut.
To be honest with you the cold cuts didn’t taste any different. So from now on I’m going to opt for the low or reduced sodium varieties. Using a flavorful bread like the Whole Grains Health Nut really added substance to the sandwich. It made is a more hearty meal.
I even have my kids making better for you choices to feed their “better”. For them it is eating better to help them do better in school. When your hungry and your stomach is rumbling it’s hard to concentrate at school.
Both of my kids love the Arnold® Whole Wheat Bread. I got them both to use the Arnold® Double Fiber bread. It’s an excellent source of fiber and it contains a whopping 19 grams of whole grains. The fiber helps to keep them full and as you know fiber also helps aid in digestion.
My kid’s favorite way to enjoy the Arnold® Double Fiber bread is as a snack with a smidgen of hazelnut spread.
I’m doing my bet to “Feed My Better” and my family is following my lead. How would YOU “Feed Your Better”? Arnold® Bread and Allison Sweeney would like for you to share your stories and goals on how you plan on (or are currently) “Feeding Your Better” through their Feed Your Better campaign.

Congrats on being an ambassador! We live in the “Brownberry” zone and we love this “health nut” bread. It is so filling and full of all the good stuff. We have kids in sports and we push this with lean meats for not only meals but snacks. The taste…OH my, it is so good!
