I am obsessed with scented things – candles, plug-ins, room sprays, air fresheners and potpourri. I love anything that makes my home smell fresh, clean, and inviting. Even better if the scent invokes some type of feeling, or holiday and seasonal scents (I especially love ANYTHING that smells like autumn).
Out of all the scented products, candles are my favorite. I absolutely love to watch the flickering flame dancing around. I find it not only mesmerizing, but also soothing and relaxing.
I love my home to smell pretty. We do have six cats, but scents are not to cover up their smells (we honestly keep a very clean home – people have told us they DON’T smell animal smells, including real estate agents). I want guests to feel welcomed and happy when they enter my home. Sometimes scents are all you need to make people feel that way.
I love to switch it up too. I enjoy utilizing different scents throughout the week. For one, I love so many different scents. I also don’t want to get used to a scent to the point I don’t smell it anymore.
I would never turn down the opportunity to review a candle. Such is the case with a new brand I was recently introduced to, Remedium.
A clean and simple aesthetic always stays in style. Remedium accents any space with its gorgeous, luxuriously-scented candles derived from nature. (If the name sounds familiar, it’s because they went viral a couple years back.)
Their unique scent combinations add comfort and modern elegance to a room (such as Champagne & Berries that smells like a tropical cocktail fragrance and its soothing crackling sound from a wood wick!).
Remedium has several unique scents to choose from, such as Lemon & Fleur de Sel (Fresh lemon and citrus combined with lilac flowers, green leaves, and salty ocean water), Guava & Ginger (Fresh tropical fruits and sparkling ginger settle into amber and musk), and Pine & Amber (Fresh pine and fir balsam mixed with alluring woodsy undertones of moss, cedar, and warm amber).
Candles are available in jars, bowls and even reed diffusers (in case you don’t like candles).
What Makes Remedium Different From the Rest:
Coconut wax instead of soy wax
Coconut wax is obtained from a sustainable crop that is eco-friendly to harvest and not associated with deforestation. It’s produced from cold-pressed coconut meat, leaving it free from all toxins. Coconut wax also burns at a lower temperature, making your candle last longer.
Wood wicks instead of cotton wicks
Sophie uses wood wicks to ensure they’re toxin-free. These wooden wicks are manufactured in the U.S., naturally processed and sourced from sustainable forests. Besides looking unique, wooden wicks provide a soft crackling sound when burning to create an alluring and warm ambiance.
Cork lids
Cork stoppers are made from the bark of a cork oak tree, not the tree itself. Bark is harvested from the tree every 9 to 12 years. Completely renewable and sustainable, harvesting bark does not harm the tree. Each time cork is harvested, the bark regenerates itself (and, in doing so, absorbs CO2).
Candle Vessels
Multi-wick, hand-designed ceramic candle vessels unique to Remedium, including a large 10-wick candle bowl that went viral, differentiating the brand from others. These are one of the biggest and most trending candles on the market.
Remedium was kind enough to send me one of their candles. I received to review their Cailini Coastal scented jar candle.

First and foremost, I love the jar. It’s so sweet. Plus I really like the large cork top. I have seen candles with metal lids (or none at all). i have never come across a candle with a cork lid. I find that very unique.
Initially it took me a bit to get the cork lid off, but then I realized I was doing it wrong. I was trying to pull it straight off. I needed to twist it off. That was my fault.
Please do not replace the lid until you know the candle it completely extinguished. That would also apply to any candle with a lid.
The candle does burn clean. You can tell there is a huge difference between burning this candle and cheap candles you get from the local grocery store. This is a top quality candle, and it shows.
To add to the lovely presentation, the candle is sent inside a draw string bag with the brand’s name and scents name imprinted on it.
I LOVE the wood wick. Wood wicks are my favorite. I like that they have a crackling sound to them when you burn them.
As for the scent, it’s delightful. It’s a fresh, clean scent. It’s perfect for spring and summer.
I’m not sure what Frangipani or Tuberose are suppose to smell like. I smell some type of a floral smell – but it’s not overly “flowery,” if that makes sense? It’s a flower smell, but not the type of smell you’d expect if you walked through a garden. Perhaps the other scents combined is why it doesn’t smell that way.
I like that I can smell the scent even when the candle it not burning. Right now I have the candle on the desk next to me with the lid off. I can easily smell it, and it’s not that close to me.
The candle’s throw stays in the room I burn it in. It doesn’t cross into other rooms. That is fine with me.
Remedium candles are available as a one time purchase, or you can subscribe and save.
