The kid are back to school. That can be a good thing, or a bad thing (per say). For some people it’s a good thing because it frees up some time during the day to get things done – thing that you have been putting off all summer because you were more focused on keeping the kids occupied or traveling on vacation.
For some people back to school time means craziness – homework, driving the kids to/from sports practices and games, baking cupcakes for class parties and spending your weekends attending classmate’s parties.
Chances are you find yourself so busy that you don’t have much “me time.” It’s very important to have some personal time to do something that you truly enjoy. If you don’t make time for yourself you are only going to stress yourself out and burn out. Even if you take 30 minutes a day to do something JUST FOR YOU, it can make a world of difference.
Some people enjoy doing crafts, reading, biking, walking, having lunch with a friend… whatever you enjoy make sure you set aside time to do it.
Some people love to watch movies and TV. There are a lot of movies and television shows I have been meaning to watch – or catch up on missed episodes. I’m not referring to “binge watching,” where you watch an entire season in a day. I’m thinking more a long the lines of catching up on missed episodes, or finally getting the opportunity to watch a series you have heard so much about but missed the first few seasons.
My daughter practically lives on Netflix. She used to watch One Tree Hill all the time – literally ALL THE TIME. Now her new obsession is Grey’s Anatomy. My daughter is in college now. She’s studying Occupational Therapy (she wants to work with children). One of her toughest classes is Anatomy and Physiology.
I don’t know how it came about but someone suggested she watch Grey’s Anatomy to learn about the body and body parts. I told my daughter it’s not that kind of a show. It’s more so a soap opera that takes place at a hospital. It was too late – she was already hooked on the show. Now she watches it all the time on Netflix. I even catch her in the room late at night on her iPad watching an episode of the show.
My family and I are huge The Walking Dead fans. Our daughter has missed a lot of episodes due to work, school and her boyfriend. She uses Netflix to catch up on episodes she missed or forgot about. We are trying to talk our son into watching the series. He only watches CNN, MSNBC and The Weather Channel. We have been trying to get him to watch The Walking Dead for years so that he can join in on our conversations about the show.
We’re so obsessed with the show that my husband and I both have Daryl Dixon’s “ear necklace” hanging in our cars. LOL!
It’s time to “dust off your shelfies” and catch up with your favorite shows and missed episodes.
What’s a “shelfie” you ask? We all have them – they’re the shows you’ve been wanting to watch but they’ve been sitting on the virtual shelf because you haven’t had the time to watch them.
Netflix has a lot of popular television series that many people enjoy, but find that they miss episodes from time to time. Some of the shows found on Netflix include;
I have never, ever missed an episode of The Walking Dead. One of my other favorite shows is Once Upon a Time. I have never missed an episode, but there have been a few times I accidentally dosed of while watching it. Not for the entire episode, but I have for 15-20 minutes. I want to make sure I catch up so I always look to Netflix to find those episodes I need to watch from start to finish again.
There are a few series that I heard great things about, but never had a chance to watch them. Many times it’s because there is another show airing at the same time that I don’t want to miss. Some of those shows include Agents of S.H.E.I.D and Scandal. Others, not include on this list, include Breaking Bad, Friday Night Lights and Supernatural.
I’d love to hear from YOU. Which shows are on your Netflix shelfie list? Share the top-three shows you have been dying to start or catch-up on and tag it with #StreamTeam. My top three are Once Upon a Time (missed full episodes), Breaking Bad (heard great things about the show – never saw it) and Salem (because I missed some of those episodes too).
