If you are a pet owner, especially a dog or cat (or in my case a mini-zoo), chances are you have some treats tucked away to give to your beloved four legged friend. With five cats and a dog I have plenty of pet treats. I even have some that both cats and dogs can enjoy. One day when we have a house and counter space I want to get a food dehydrator so I can make treats out of real meats, fruits and vegetables.
Pet treats come in many forms – hard, soft, chewy, and combination hard and soft (hard outside, soft inside). Did you know they also come in LIQUID form?
Lickey Stiks are LIQUID pet treats. Instead of giving your pet a little kibble you can let them have a few licks of Lickety Stiks. Lickety Stik is available for both dogs and cats.
Lickety Stik comes in a bottle with a rolling ball on the end. It looks exactly like a roll on deodorant tube/bottle. Inside is a liquid treat that resembles gravy.
To use Lickety Stik simply let your pet lick the end where the ball is. As the ball spins around it picks up some of the liquid treat inside which then rolls around on to your pets tongue. Just let them have a few licks and they’ve received enough of the treat.

First let me review the cat Lickety Stik. I let all five of my cats sniff it. Only two of them took and interest to the scent. I think two of my cats were a bit weary of it, so that might have something to do with it (they didn’t “get” what it was). One of them was totally indifferent. The other two were interested in what I had.
Since I didn’t know if this was a good product to share among our pets I just one of them have the Lickety Stik. I ended up giving it to Bella. Since I have to fight with her everyday to take her medications (six pills per day) I needed a little something to treat her with after she took her medication WITHOUT tearing me up into itty bitty pieces (I have a new scratch on my arm from this morning’s “pilling”).
Bella did enjoy the Lickety Stik. She was happy to lick at it to retrieve the liquid treat inside.
As for the “no mess roller ball”, it did make a bit of a mess. A few times I found that the liquid some how ended up on her chest and legs. I don’t think it came from the product it’s self. I’m guessing as Bella was licking it perhaps too much came out and some of it dripped off her tongue and on to her check and legs. For the most part I didn’t matter since she ended up licking it off of her body. You know cats – they like to be clean all the time. My only concern was getting the liquid on the floor or my clothing. I wouldn’t want it to stain.
You can see the cat Lickety Stik (below – right) and how the liquid is dripping off the side of the roller. I don’t know if it’s just coming out too fast or is there is a fluke with our cat Lickety Stik.
As for the dog Lickety Stik. My dog Espn enjoyed it. He licked at it frantically. I’m pretty sure he had more then the 10 lick serving every time he used it. In fact he used up his Lickey Stik quickly. I only gave it to him once a day for the most part.
The packaging is convenient for “on the go”. You can easily tote it around in your pocket or bag. The lid stays on very well. They are also small in size so they don’t take up much room in the pantry. They are about the same size as a regular roll on deodorant bottle.
The flavors appealed to both my dog and my cat.
I would recommend wiping the Lickety Stik clean after each use, especially with a dog. They don’t always hit the roller ball perfectly. They sometimes lick around it an on to the tube. Since their saliva tends to be a bit slimy, not to mention you don’t want any germs or bacteria to form on it, I would recommend wiping it off with each use.
Here are two brief videos, one for the cat Lickety Stik and one for the dog. You can find both videos on their products pages on the PetSafe.net website.
The dog Lickety Stik retails for $6.99 and the cat Lickety Stik retails for $3.99.

Hi Kimberly, thanks for doing the review! We love reading what pet parents think of our products. Sounds like your pets would give the Lickety Stik two paws up! 🙂

That is a great product, the idea is awesome. My dog is overweight and I worry about giving her too many snacks. I too want to make real food for my pets. After all, we worry about our own health but then feed our pets out of a 40 lb bag!
