I love coffee. I really, really, REALLY love coffee. I won’t say I’m addicted to it, but I do enjoy a cup or two every day – hot or cold.
Some people use coffee to perk them up and give them a boost of energy thanks to the caffeine. Not me. I actually find coffee relaxing. Is that strange? Seriously, a cup of coffee and a good book or movie is very soothing and relaxing to me.
I enjoy trying different types of coffees. I’m not a big fan of flavored coffees, but I will at least try them. I tend to stick with breakfast, Columbian and signature/house blends.
I was recently sent to review coffee from Masion Camus. I have never heard of the brand before.
Maison Camus coffee is closely related to Camus Cognac.
Camus Cognac has been produced by five generations of the Camus family. Jean-Baptiste Camus started selling his high quality cognac under the name La Grande Marque back in 1863. The Camus brand is known in 120 countries.
The same flavor profiles that Camus cognac blenders have used for generations has been applied towards producing one of the world’s most exceptional coffees. Maison Camus coffees are custom blended and carefully roasted.
Knowing a bit about the background about the coffee told me that this was not going to taste like coffee you get at the grocery store. It sounds like gourmet coffee you would get at a fancy restaurant.
I received to review Maison Camus Signature Blend and Maison Camus French Roast.
I don’t have a regular coffee brewer. I used my single serve brewer with a reusable cup that I filled with the Maison Camus coffee.
I tried both blends.
The French Roast is very robust and flavorful. It’s a strong coffee (I tend to like light to medium roasts). I would very much liken this blend to the kind you find a fine restaurants. It’s strong flavor is probably why this blend is used in a lot of the recipes found on the Maison Camus website.
Speaking of recipes there is a recipe on their site that I plan on trying, I just haven’t had the opportunity to do so yet. It’s for a Camucino (pictured above). It’s made with the French Roast blend, cognac, simple syrup and light cream. It can be enjoyed hot or cold (I’m thinking of trying it hot). I’ll let you know my thoughts when I have a chance to make it. 🙂
The Signature Blend is “more my speed”. Its full of flavor, but not as strong as it’s French Roast “cousin”. It’s a nice blend that can be enjoyed morning, noon and night (if you can drink coffee at night – I can). I would consider it a medium blend.
Normally I just have one cup of coffee in the AM. A few times I have opted for a second cup of coffee when I made it with the Maison Camus Coffee. There is something unique about it that I really enjoy. Even the Signature Blend has a gourmet quality to it.
I did some research on the brand and found this interesting video that gives you more insight into this special coffee.
This is quality coffee. You can tell that a lot of heart and soul went into creating these coffees.
I don’t know where I read it but I recall reading something about Camus coffee – that cognac is great to enjoy after dinner, as is coffee, so it’s only natural that the makers of one of the world’s best cognacs would create their own coffee blend.
Currently you can find Maison Camus coffee at Amazon.com and specialty coffee shops.
If you are looking for a quality coffee with gourmet flavor without the gourmet price tag, check out Maison Camus coffee.
For more information visit www.CamusCoffee.com. You can also find the brand on Facebook and Twitter.
Have you tried Masion Camus coffee yet? Are you familiar with the Camus brand?

Sounds yummy. I had not heard about this brand before. i like both coffee and tea, and I can relate to what you say about its relaxing properties. Always wondered if that is from the caffeine too or something else.
