Having teenagers means having a cabinet filled with acne control products. I think I have enough products to rival our local pharmacy (ha ha). A teenager’s skin is constantly changing and evolving. One month “X” product is all they need to keep their acne under control. The next month that product will no longer work so then they have to try “Y” product.
I don’t like to toss products out because I have two teenagers, so what works for one might not work for the other, and vice versa.
When asked if I would do reviews for acne products I always say “yes”. That is because some of the products I have received to review with my teens have turned out to be some of the best products. Had I not received them to review we might not have otherwise known about them.
About a month ago I received a product called Miracle Skin Transformer Acne Control, which is available at Sephora.
The first ever acne treatment to fight “pimple memory,” or recurring breakouts in the same spot. Smart salicylic acid, anti-microbial peptides, marine extracts and vitamin B3 treat work together to heal and prevent breakouts now and in the future.
This lightweight, oil-free formula controls shine and sebum, leaving a smooth, matte, flawless finish as it hydrates, firms and calms skin. Available in five shades: Translucent, Light, Medium, Tan and Dark.
Acne Control works to:
- Reduce oil production
- Sooth redness and irritation
- Prevent future breakouts
- Cover the appearance of acne marks
- Reduce appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
- Even skin tone and texture
I really wanted to try this out with both of my children, but I didn’t think having a “tinted” product would work well with my teenage son. I wouldn’t want kids to notice and think he wore make up. Thankfully I received the translucent variety so there is no tint to it. It blends into your skin and you cannot see it.
I know I’d go through the product a lot quicker having both my kids try it at the same time, rather than just one of them. I figured it would give me a better idea of how it worked.
I tried to convince my kids to let me take before and after photos. The mere thought of their pimples being seen by thousands didn’t sit well with them. Even though chances are no one they know reads my blog (I don’t think teens flock to She Scribes :-)), but they were dead set against it.
Our daughter is 16 and gets occasional breakouts. Nothing like she did when she was around 12 or 13 years old. Back then she had a lot of pimples. Now she just gets a few. She does have a lot of acne marks on her face and she uses cover up to cover them up.
Our son is going to be 14 in a couple of months. He gets pimples all the time, mostly on his forehead. They are mostly on his forehead. His forehead tends to be more oily than the rest of his face too.
I had both of my children use the Acne Control to see how well it worked.
The instructions tell you to put a pea size amount on your fingers and rub into your face and neck. Since we had the translucent variety and not the tinted one I just told my kids to apply the product where they break out the most. The product says it can help “heal” breakouts but I was a bit weary of applying it directly to an inflamed pimple. I told my son (who had them the most) just to be careful when applying the product.
It’s been about 2+ weeks since both of my teens started to use the product. They use it on a daily basis. They apply it in the morning after they wash their face. At night after they wash their face they apply other products.
My daughter’s face looks a lot better. She hasn’t had any breakouts at all. Without make up on her face does look a bit better, not only in appearance but also texture. I jokingly said to her that her face has a “airbrushed” look to it.
My son still has pimples and breakouts, but he hasn’t had a plethora of them at the same time. Normally he’ll have 3-5 pimples, especially on his forehead. Right now he has one large one and two smaller ones. His forehead doesn’t look at red and inflamed as it normally does. It looks a lot clearer too. Usually you can see the sites of where previous pimples were. Now they are not as evident.
I think the Miracle Skin Transformer Acne Control is doing a great job with my daughter’s skin. It appears to be working with my son’s skin too, just not as quickly as it has with my daughter. Everyone’s skin is different so it will react to products differently. I am hopeful after a couple of more weeks using the product my son’s skin will be more clearer too.
So far I am pleased with the product. I wouldn’t call the results “miraculous”, but I do notice a marked improvement. My teens are happy with the product too and both told me they want to continue using it.

Miracle Skin Transformer Acne Control can be purchased at Sephora (Sephora.com) for $48.00. It’s not exactly “budget friendly” but when I think about all the $$$ I spend on a monthly basis on skin care products for my teens it’s not so bad.

All in all this sounds like it did a good job. Like you, I have a son and a daughter that have different breakout patterns. So I would go with the clear over the tinted. You didn’t mention but I was wondering if you had any issues with this product staining or bleaching any of their clothes? I have had were my son will put some pimple cream on and next thing I know his black shirt has a bleached spot from the cream. I will have to check my local Sephora store to see if they have any in stock. Thanks for the review.

This sounds like a good product! I wish something like this had been around when I was a teenager! Talk about oily skin! It does help prevent wrinkles in the future though..I like that it comes tinted or untinted and that it controls oiliness and shine! This would be a good product for Adult acne also. The fact that your kids complexions have improved and that they want to continue using it, says a whole lot about this product! Thanks for a very informative and time tested revue!
