Have you seen Disney’s Prep & Landing holiday specials? There was one that aired the past two years, simply called Prep & Landing. This year a new addition to the franchise has been added called Prep & Landing: Naughty vs. Nice.
Prep & Landing is a cute animated short film (22 minutes on DVD, a half hour when you factor in commercials on TV) about the elves who help prep homes for Santa’s arrival. Think MacGyver in elf form. Ha Ha.
One of the elves on the Prep & Landing crew is Wayne. Wayne has been doing Prep & Landing for years and is looking forward to being promoted. Sadly Wayne was passed over for the promotion. Instead of a new position he is stuck doing Prep & Landing for another season, this time with an elf new to the Prep & Landing team, Lanny.
By now Wayne is totally disenchanted with Christmas and dislikes being part of the Prep & Landing team. At one house they need to prep, Wayne opts to sit around and do nothing and let Lanny do all the work.
One thing a Prep & Landing elf cannot do is be seen by humans. Wayne accidentally broke that rule and was seen by a little boy who lives in the house. The little boy was so excited to see Wayne and Lanny because he knew Santa would be there soon.
Wayne’s heart wasn’t in it until he met this boy. Then when he realized that Santa wasn’t going to be able to stop at the house due to a snowstorm, Wayne had a huge change of heart and did everything could to prep the house for Santa’s landing.
Will Wayne and Lanny succeed? Will Santa be able to arrive at the house? Will Wayne ever get promoted? You will have to pick up a copy of the DVD, Prep & Landing, where ever movies are sold to find out the answers.
I loved this show the first time I saw it on TV. My husband missed it that year (he had to work late) so we made extra certain he got to see it last year when it aired. It’s not one of our favorite holiday specials. We were thrilled to catch the newest Prep & Landing: Naughty vs. Nice. We hope Disney will continue to make more Prep & Landing specials.
The DVD includes a lot of bonus features which are a “must see”.
There are two short features (only around 5 minutes long). One is called Operation Secret Santa where Wayne and Lanny need to retrieve a secret package for Mrs. Claus before Santa wakes up from his nap. The other short, Tiny’s Big Adventure, is really cute too. It stars Tiny, a REALLY tiny little elf. He has some misadventures trying to make a pot of coffee in the elve’s break room.
Other funny bonus features include a series of short clips that are part of the Kringle Academy. They are Elf Training Videos which include a welcome, equipment training, Do’s and Don’t’s and more. They are really funny!
There are also a few commercials from the North Pole. Cute!
Even though the special is barely over 20 minutes long, the bonus features help to fill in the gap.
We love the DVD. I know we’ll watch it again and again with each holiday season. It already has a spot in our cabinet next to other classics like Its a Wonderful Life, Miracle on 34th Street, Elf, Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story and others.
Add Prep & Landing DVD to your family’s holiday collection today!

I had never heard of this movie until I saw it yesterday on blog giveaway. It looks super cute and I’m sure it won’t disappoint as Disney never does. Just another one to add to the collection, hopefully you can give away a copy!
