I have been having an especially stressful week this week. The irony in that is it’s National Spa Week. A spa is where people go to relax, unwind and relief stress – yet I’m sitting at home totally frazzled because I’ve been dealing with a lot of stress (health issues, $$$ issues, a not-so-dandy experience with Bob’s Furniture which I plan on blogging about…). I also tend to over think things and worry about things when there really is no need to. That is just how I am. I’ve always been that way.
There are many ways you can help relax your mind and body. Of course a day at a spa would certainly be ideal, but that is not always possible for most people.
There are many different ways you can help relieve stress and relax, naturally. Some ideas that come to mind include;
- Take a long walk or exercise
- Getting a massage (your significant other can do that for you – no need to spend $$$)
- Meditate
- Take a nap
- Do something that you enjoy doing (sport, hobby…)
- “Fuzz Therapy” (it’s hard to feel stressed out when you are snuggling a fuzzy kitty or playing with a perky puppy)
- Read
- Take a bubble bath
I was recently introduced to another way to help relax and unwind. It’s a new product from Nature Made called VitaMelts™ Relax.
VitaMelts Relax in part of the VitaMelt family of products which are melt-in-your-mouth vitamin supplements. Instead of swallowing the supplements, or chewing on them, you simply let the flavorful tablets dissolve in your mouth. They dissolve quickly too.
Other VitaMelts include Energy, Sleep, Vitamin D, Zinc and Vitamin C.
I’ve been using the VitaMelt Energy supplements for a couple of weeks now. I take one in the AM and one mid-afternoon. They help me to get through the day. Each tablet contains 1,500 mcg of B12. I am actually B12 deficient (anemia).
Your body needs B12 to make red blood cells. Red blood cells carry oxygen throughout your body. When you don’t have enough B12 in your body you do not have enough red blood cells to do the job, which leaves your body feeling tired and weak and totally void of energy (trust me, I know this all too well).
Sometimes other people need a B12 supplement too. That is why Nature Made created VitaMelt Energy. The extra B12 in your system can help give you the energy you need to get through your day. Not only that they taste great too (Mixed Berry flavor – yummy!).
Anyway… back to getting some relaxation and unwinding. I got a little off track there for a moment. 🙂
VitaMelts Relax comes in a tasty Green Tea Mint flavor. Four supplements give you 200 mg of L-theanine. L-theanine has been show to help relax your mind.
I have been taking the VitaMelt Relax supplement after dinner when I’m ready to step away from the computer and unwind. It took a few days of taking the supplement before I noticed that it was making a difference. It does seem to make me feel less tense. It kind of reminds me of enjoying a hot cup of herbal tea. It has that soothing, calming feeling about it.
The supplements taste REALLY good – almost too good.
I like that I can take the VitaMelts “as is”. I don’t need any water to help me swallow them. They quickly and easily dissolve in your mouth.
Nature Made sent me some VitaMelts Relax, as well as a “spa kit” to help me unwind at night. I wanted to have a little spa night with my stepmother, but she is out in Seattle visiting relatives. So instead I had a “spa night” with my teenager daughter – who ironically is sometimes the source of what stresses me out – ha ha.
The kit included two lovely scented candles (not sure of the scent, but it was certainly ideal for Spring), a manicure kit and a VERY NICE Fresh Face Cucumber Mask made by Willa.
I did not give my daughter the VitaMelts. She wanted to try them but the package says not for person’s under 16 (she won’t be 16 until next month).
It was actually fun putting on the face mask with my daughter. It gave us some bonding time. We had fun and I wasn’t stressing over her typical “teenage attitude”. LOL. I even gave in to her and popped Breaking Dawn Part II and we watched it together.
My daughter wanted to do my nails with the manicure kit as we watched the movie, but I’m not big on having my nails done. Instead I did my best to do her nails. I didn’t do a great job painting them. My hands are not as steady as they used to be. Thankfully she didn’t mind (although she did remove the polish the next day, sigh…).
It was fun. I’ll have to have a mini-at-home-spa-day more often with my daughter. Now to find something my hubby can do with our son.
In addition to taking the VitaMelts Relax I have been trying to carve out a little “me time”. The past couple of days I have forced myself to step away from the computer and go sit outside on our balcony and close my eyes and listen to the world around me (a combination of birds and cars whizzing by). I have also been taking deep breaths and trying to clear my mind.
I have also been trying to squeeze some reading in. I love to read but never seem to have the time to do it. So I have been trying to find a few minutes here and there to read. Reading helps to relax me too (depending on what I’m reading that is).
How do YOU take “me time”? What do you do to relax and unwind? Have you tried the new Nature Made VitaMelts Relax yet, or any of the other VitaMelt varieties? Feel free to leave a comment and tell me about it.

I’ll have to check into this. I’d be interested in getting my sister the energy ones since she has a difficult time occasionally keeping away at night working. Hard when you reach our older years and we do get tired out.

I do take Vitamin B 12, but this product could really help me. Yesterday was like the worst stressful day ever! Today is so much better! I am going to look into getting some of these vitamelts because they are helping you, and I think they would help me, too!

Thanks for this post! I am like you, deficient in B12. I have to take the monthly injections and supplement myself with B12 everyday. Yeah, not so much fun. I haven’t heard of Vitamelts until now so wow, what a coincidence that it can be such an easy and relaxing way to get my daily requirements without having to swallow a nasty pill. I should definitely check them out! I should also give myself a spa day and spend some time indulging in some message therapy. The ways that I try to relax is sort of like yours, I read, I nap, I get away from the computer, I go for a walk or just simple exercise or indulge in some artwork and listen to music.
