As a “mom” to five cats, a dog and some Goldfish, it’s safe to say that I am an animal lover. If we had the money we would be living on a farm right now. That is how much I love animals. 🙂
All of our pets were adopted – except the Goldfish. One fish was won at the country fair (along with six other fish). All the fish died except the one so I went out to PetSmart and purchase him (her?) a friend. All of our non-aquatic pets are adopted from the local animal shelter (one cat was a wild cat that we raised since he was a kitten – he was never at the shelter).
I love to show support of charities and organizations that help animals. I recently learned about a company called Givebones that provides funds for animal shelters and rescue groups around the country.
According to Givebones, when you purchase just ONE of their Givebones collars it can help save up to three dogs from being euthanized.
Givebones mission is to reduce the number of homeless and euthanized dogs in the US each year by providing funding to animal shelters and rescue groups.
According to Givebones founder Tricia Andrews, “there are approximately 5 million to 7 million furry companions that enter animal shelters every year.” With this astounding number of shelter animals in need, Givebones wants everyone to “join the movement” and help shelters and rescue groups save dogs.
Celebrities are also fans of Givebones. Some celebrity supporters include;
- Emma Kenny (from the Showtime series Shameless)
- Kellan Lutz (Twilight series)
- Eva Langoria
- Pink
- Kendall Jenner
- Billy Ray Cyrus
- Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl)
- Nick & Vanessa Lachey
- Jesse Metcalfe
- Tony Romo (Dallas Cowboys quarterback)
- Blake Griffin
- Troy Aikman (former Dallas Cowboys quarterback)
- Alex Rodriguez
That is an impressive list. They are all taking an active part in helping to spread this “do good” message.
Givebones collars are available in a wide variety of colors and in extra small, small, medium and large sizes for the retail price of $14.99 at www.Givebones.com. A complimentary Givebones wristband comes with each purchase allowing animal lovers to show their support and help give their dog a voice.

Thank you for sharing. As a cat owner, dog walker, and animal lover I am always looking for new ways to help. I noticed on their site that they also have wristbands, so you can help even if you don’t have a dog.
