It’s true what they say – “Everything old is new again.”
I’m amazed by how many things from the past are suddenly “in” again. Take for example vinyl LP records. Yes! Actual records – the kind I listened to as a kid – are now back in style. I even received one for the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack. I also know that a collection of music from the Peanuts movies is also coming out on vinyl LP record towards the end of the year. In fact, last night on QVC I saw them selling a record player. Cool!
When I was a young girl I collected postcards and charms for a charm bracelet (among other things). It was fun to pick up a new charm for my bracelet from everywhere I traveled to. The charms were a fun reminder of my great travels. I also loved charms that represented me and the things I liked.
It’s great to see that charm bracelets are back in style. Too bad I can’t find the one I had as a child.
Charms have come a long way too. Back in my youth they were not overly elaborate. These days you can purchase charms with diamonds, fine gems and beautiful Swarovski crystals.
Are you familiar with the brand Chamilia?
The Chamilia company was founded in New York City in 2002 as a bead company. In 2013 it was purchased by the world renowned Swarovski. Swarovski crystals and zirconia are the finest in the world and radiate with unsurpassed brilliance.
Chamilia’s charms and jewelry are made with a blend of old-world techniques and cutting-edge technology. They use only the finest, heirloom-quality metals – solid .925 sterling silver and 14K gold. Their beautiful jewelry is created almost entirely by hand.
Accented with Swarovski Crystals and Zirconia –the finest in the world – they radiate with unsurpassed brilliance.
I have a new charm bracelet now and I am slowly adding new charms to it. Right now I have a Tinker Belle charm, “I Love My Family” charm, “Wunderlust” charm, a butterfly charm and a tiny skull. There are meanings behind each one of them.
I recently added a new charm to my bracelet from Chamilia. It’s their “Shoot for the Moon” charm. This super adorable charm features a rocket ship colored with light blue enamel. There is a single red Swarovski crystal at the base of the rocket (where the flames come from).
I wasn’t able to get a decent photo of the crystal, but here is the charm on my bracelet as well as on it’s own.
I’m sorry the photo quality is not better. It’s so much nicer in person.
The Shoot to the Moon charm is very detailed including the star shaped part that slips on to your charm bracelet (sorry, I don’t know the technical term for that part).
I really like this charm because I’ve always told my kids to “Shoot for the Moon” (or stars), meaning “aim high.” So I really like the sentiment behind this adorable charm. I also like that it has a patriot look to it.
The Shoot for the Moon charm retails for $40 and you can find it on the Chamilia website, Chamilia.com. You can also find the brand on social media. All the links are found on the bottom of their website.
Do you have a charm bracelet or a favorite charm?

I have an old sterling silver charm bracelet. I never even finished putting all of my charms on it, though! Maybe I should finally do that! Lol
