Have you ever hosted a dinner party or backyard get together that required a bit more then paper plates? I still smile when I think about huge family get togethers my mom would host. Even though she had fine china she would often use paper plates and plastic flatware because it made clean up so much easier. We didn’t have the luxury of a dishwasher when I was younger.
My mom would rather forgo using her beautiful china rather then have to do the dishes accumulated for 20+ guests. She would set the dining room up very nicely with her beautiful table cloth and flowers in the center of the table. It’s just that she didn’t want to be bothered with all those dishes.
If only they made disposible dinnerware that was as lovely as it was functional.
Enter Smarty Had a Party, a new line of disposable dinnerware that is so beautiful and elegant you could easily use it at a wedding or at the most fanciest affair.
Smarty Had a Party sent me some of their lovely dinnerware, flatware and “glasses” to do a review.
I am very pleased with with the quality of all the products that were sent to me. I especially love how sturdy the dinner plates are. There is nothing worst then having a meal on a disposable plate and have the plate crack, leak or break. Or even worst bend when you are carrying food on it. Have you ever had that happen to you before? You fill up your plate with food, walk to where you are going to sit down and the plate starts to bend and give, causing food to fall off or juices to drip down and stain your clothing. I have had that happen one too many times.
Smarty Had a Party sent me black square dinner plates (10/$8.95), white triangle plates (10/$10.95), 3-ply napkins (16/$4.50), square champagne fluts (6/$8.69 ), cubed drinking “glasses” (10/$4.50), and a packge of knives and forks (40/$3.95). For 10 guests the cost per guest using these products would come to LESS then $4.50 per person. That is not bad at all, especially considering the cost of renting fine china, flatware and drinking cups or having to wash all of these products per guest.
If you think about how much regular store bought paper plates, cups and plastic flatware costs you can see that Smarty Had a Party prices are comparable.
I love the triangle shaped cake plates. They are ideal for showcasing the perfect slice of cake. I can imagine a slice of cake with a few strawberries along the side resting on one of these lovely plates.
Smarty Had a Party put a lot of emphasis into the finer details. Even the champagne flutes and drinking cups have designs on the sides of them. I tried to capture them in the pictures.
The napkins are VERY heavy. They feel almost cloth-like. Its hard to believe these are paper napkins. Smarty Has a Party offers colors and designs to match any theme or decor.
Smarty Had a Party has all your other party needs covered including cake toppers including my favorite bride dragging the groom to the alter and a very unique pregnant bride cake topper.
I also love their other unique serving pieces including this fancy asymmetrical cube.
They even have artificial flowers and flower petals to add the finishing touch to your guest’s tables or buffet table.
Serving an elegant dinner party, hosting a buffet or even a simple backyard barbecue can get a touch of class with dinnerware from Smarty Had a Party, and it doesn’t have to break the bank either.
