The warmer weather is finally here! It’s not short-weather (yet) but it was nice enough to leave most of the windows opened all day.
I think my whole family has “Spring fever”. My kids are already begging me to ask Grandpa to get the barbecue ready. They are ready for some barbecue hot dogs and hamburgers. Barbecues will happen soon enough. 🙂
When I think about the warmer weather I also think about backyard barbecues, picnics and parties. When I attend any of these events I always like to bring something along with me, whether it’s macaroni salad, garden salad, chips or a dessert.
One popular barbecue and picnic treat is deviled eggs. I love to make deviled eggs. I sometimes make them with bacon or I mix the yolks with tuna. Occasionally I even chop up red and green peppers. The great thing about deviled eggs is that you can make them several different ways. Or you can just make the classic with the sprinkling of Paprika.
Have you ever made deviled eggs for a get together? How do you transport them? It’s not easy. In the past I have actually assembled the eggs “on site”. I would bring the pre-cooked eggs with me (de-shelled) and then make them once I arrive at my friend or family member’s home. I have tried to tote them around in a cake box (the round plastic ones) but they tend to move around too much.
I was sent free to review (no compensation either) the ideal container to tote around deviled eggs (and Easter eggs too!). It’s called Snap N’ Stack Food Storage Eggtainer.
The Snap ‘N Stack® Food Storage Eggtainer can hold up to two dozen eggs in a BPA-free stackable design with two removable egg holders that can go right to the table for serving. The Snap ‘N Stack Food Storage Eggtainer is also dishwasher, microwave and freezer safe. It even comes with a lifetime warranty.
The container snaps apart so you can carry only one level of eggs, or snaps together if you want to carry a lot of deviled eggs. The snaps are really sturdy too. I don’t see how it would come unsnapped under normal use.
Each tray has oval “wells” in them to rest the egg on. It provides them with a little more stability so that they don’t slide around when you are transporting them.
You can even remove the inserts to carry around other items like small cupcakes, fresh fruit and veggies.
I like that the trays go from the container to the table. That means there is no need for an extra plate or asking your host for a platter to serve your eggs on.
The overall size of the Eggtainer is small making it easy to store when not in use. It even fits in the refrigerator.
I used it with some deviled eggs that I made (made with bacon and sprinkled with Paprika). I used just one layer. I like that I can separate the layers depending on my needs.
I have a feeling I’m going to use this a lot over the summer. Now that I have the perfect way to transport deviled eggs there is no doubt in my mind that I won’t be making deviled eggs more often.
As I mentioned previously in the post the Eggtainer would be ideal for transporting colored Easter eggs too.
For more information about the Snap ‘N Stack Food Storage Eggtainer visit www.Snapware.com. You can also find the brand on Facebook.
The Eggtainer retails for $12.99 and is available for purchase on the Snapware website. You can also find it at the Container Store, Bed, Bath & Beyond and other retail locations.

This is perfect for my family. We always have deviled eggs for holidays/family get-togethers. This would make transporting them so easy!

That is great. I have seen something like this before. I didn’t know where to get it, though. Thanks for the information.

This is a great idea being that the eggs do slip around in other plastic containers. I like the double decker idea too. with my family i need that many or they would be all before I get to the party. thanks for the info
