There are many disadvantages to living in a condo (trust me, I have a list a mile long… sigh…). One of the biggest inconveniences is that we are not allowed to have our how washer and dryer in our condo unit. Everyone has to use the “community” washer and dryers in the basement. There are absolutely no “pros” to having to be forced to use those washer and dryers. There is nothing but “cons”.
- It costs us $1.50 per load.
- We have to walk up/down 4 flights of stairs t0 the basement (8 flights if you include the “round trip”)
- They are the cheapest possible washer and dryers ever made.
- They are always broken. There are only two washers and two dryers and never do all four of them work at the same time.
- The people who own the machines take FOREVER to fix them.
- We have to share them with 9 other units. Some people put their laundry in and leave it all day making it impossible for anyone else to get anything done.
- They are in the basement which is a creepy place to begin with. Twice strange people have been found hanging out down there.
- No one wants to go up and down to the basement in the middle of the night in case you have to do an emergency wash.
I dream of having my own washer and dryer. I know that is an odd thing to wish for, but it’s true. I cannot wait for the day we sell our condo and buy a house and can have our very own washer and dryer.
As long as we can afford it I want something that is “top of the line” to make up for all those years of having to use the cheapest washer and dryers ever made. I would love something like the new washer that GE has. It’s featured in it’s new Play Big, Clean Simple videos. Have you seen those videos yet? They are funny! Kudos to GE for coming up with such a fun and create video marketing campaign. Needless to say regular people don’t make stains like they do in the videos. LOL!
Here are three of my favorites.
I don’t know which one is my favorite. All I know is that I want the meatball sandwich the bull rider is eating. That looks yummy. 🙂
Did you check out the videos? Do you have a favorite? Feel free to comment and let me know.
I know when we finally get a house shopping for a high tech washer and dryer, like the cool washer featured in the videos, is going to be one of my top priorities, along with buying a bed for me and my hubby (we current sleep on a sofa bed).

I know how hard it is to get clothes washed.I own a waher and dryer, but have bad water and have to take our good clothes to laundry mat about a 15 minute drive from where I live.It also costs 1.50 to wash there too,and I hate going there by my self. It’s beside a motel that has a lot of hobo looking men coming and going from there. There is people that just run in there to use the restroom, and I hate having to go there.I always wash my clothes then bring them back home to dry.
