This time of the year, when I walk up and down the seasonal aisles at the grocery store or drug store, I see hundreds of boxes of chocolates. Giving a heart shaped box of chocolates for Valentines Day is so cliché. Whey give your loved one a box of boring old chocolates when you can surprise them with delicious treats like truffles, a heart shaped chocolate cake, mini Valentines Day cupcakes or a giant Valentine brownie cookie.
During the holiday season (Thanksgiving, Christmas) many people turn to Swiss Colony to purchase gifts for friends and loved ones. For the past few years I have purchased gifts from Swiss Colony for my Grandfather and my Father.
Did you know that Swiss Colony is open for business year round and offers a variety of sweet treats for just about every holiday or occasion? They do! And they have a lot of great gift ideas for Valentines Day. Best of all there is still time to order.

This year instead of a box of chocolates why not surprise your sweetie with one of these delectable goodies.
Mmmm!!!
I have the little ladybugs that are pictured above. They are so cute that I hate to let anyone eat them. It’s hard to take a bite out of them with them staring at you with those big, sad eyes. LOL!
My pictures didn’t turn out so good. Hopefully you can see how adorable they are. They even come in a box with a green leaf design that makes these little cutie pies idea for the Spring time too.
The ladybugs are so good! They have a truffle center and are covered in chocolate. These are a bit more then a bite size. They are a wee bit smaller then an Oreo cookie to give you an idea.
I put a couple in the fridge to see how they tasted. I prefer them non-refrigerated. When they are cold they are harder to bite into and they are not as “light” (for lack of a better description) as they are when they are at room temperature. A ladybug and a glass of milk make a great snack. You could also top off a dish of ice cream with a little ladybug too.
You don’t have to be in a relationship to send someone a sweet Valentines Day surprise. Kids LOVE to get packages in the mail. So do elderly people, especially “shut ins”. Why not send a loved one from across the miles a Valentines Day treat? I can guarantee it will bring a smile to their face.
You don’t need a holiday or special occasion to send someone a nice surprise. Swiss Colony offers a variety of sweets, meats, cheese, clothing, collectibles and even sugar free treats. There is something for everyone at Swiss Colony.
You can find gifts at Swiss Colony from under $15.00 and up. Be sure to check out their clearance section too for some great bargains. Many products have a self life (or fridge life) of a few months.
