T.G.I.F!!!! Thank goodness it’s Friday.
Now that I am back to work outside of our home (part time) I look forward to Friday. Full time or not, when you work during the week I think most people look forward to the weekend.
Students are back to school too and just like their parents they also look forward to the weekend when they can relax and unwind (unless they have a lot of homework and studying to do).
Often the weekend is the only time when families can reconnect with one another. For some families even the weekends can be busy. That is why the best time to get together with your family would be Friday night.
My family and I try and set aside one night a week (if possible – if not, one night a month) for Family Movie Night. It’s fun to watch a movie together and talk about it afterwards.
We used to let the kids take turn picking out the movie but now that they are teenagers they tend to argue over what to watch. Therefore mom and dad (me and my hubby) make the decision. We always try and find something everyone would enjoy which usually means some sort of a comedy. Sometimes our son rather do other things. In those cases we look for horror movies. My daughter and I love horror movies and my husband enjoys them too. We’re also huge Walking Dead fans which we watch together every Sunday night.
If you are looking for a great film to enjoy with your family on a Friday night (or any night of week and/or time that is more convenient), Netflix has plenty of great choices.

When we have Family Movie Night I always like to make popcorn. After all, what is a movie without popcorn? If we don’t use our air popper I’ll put 1/4th of a cup of kernels in a brown paper bag, close it up and microwave it until the popping of the kernels slows down. This option is much healthier then traditional microwave popcorn plus there is no salt, butter or “mystery ingredients” on it. It’s just plain butter that each family member can season themselves (I keep a supply of popcorn seasonings). Plus each family member has their own bag.
Occasionally I’ll pick up those large boxes of movie candies when I see them on sale.
On chilly winter nights we all snuggle up under blankets or Snuggies (each family member, except me, has their own Snuggle).
