March is National Nutrition Month. This is the perfect opportunity to re-evaluate your nutrition needs and to get yourself back on track. Personally I know I needed to start taking my Iron and B-12 supplements again, so I have started taking them every morning like I should have been doing all along.
Have you ever taken a stroll down the vitamin aisle at your local drug or grocery store? Wow! Talk about confusing! There are so many supplements and vitamins to chose from. It’s hard to know which ones you should, or shouldn’t, be taking. Of course speaking with your health care provider is always a great starting point. He/She can give you an idea of what your body needs.
There is also an easy and free solution to help you narrow down your healthy nutrition needs.
There is a new website that was launched by the makers of Centrum called NutritionPossible.com. The site offers visitors plenty of information including a unique self-assessment tool that will provide you with personalized recommendations based on your dietary intakes. In addition it also provide you with educational information for each question you answer. Not only does it help you to figure out what vitamins and supplements you should be taken, it’s also an educational tool to help you know more about important things that effect your over all health.
The questions are easy, such as gender, age, how many servings of fruits and vegetables do you consume daily, how much water do you drink and so forth.
Not only does the assessment tool help you to determine what vitamins and supplements you would benefit from but it also provides you with suggestions on what foods you should be eating more of, suggested activities and more.
My assesment suggested I take a 20 minute nap daily due to the fact that I don’t get a lot of sleep at night. Sounds good to me! I could use a nap right about now.
In addition to the self-assessment tool, NutritionPossible.com also has expert nutritional commentary from professionals in the health related fields.
NutritionPossible.com also offers visitors a way to engage with others with community building and activity challenges where visitors can collect badges once the challenges have been completed.
My health assessment suggested that I take an Omega-3 because I don’t eat enough seafood. Omega-3 is essential for good heart, eye and brain health. Currently I have added ProNutrients Omega 3 Minigels which are made by Centrum.
The ProNutrients Omega-3 can be taken on its own or with your regular multivitamin.
Pronutrients Omega-3 is the # 1 doctor recommended multivitamin brand. It contains two of the most scientifically studied Omega-3s found in fish oil. Pronutrients Omega-3 contains a unique formula with nutrients that provide triple action support. The Omega 3 is also sourced exclusively from sustainable fish sources.
On the NutritionPossible.com website there is a $10 off offer for Pronutrients.
I cannot tell you how effective they have been on my heart, eye and brain health because I have no way of measuring it.They do have a bit of a fishy taste to them but that quickly disappears with a glass of water. The minigels are small and easy to swallow, unlike other Omega-3 fish capsules.
In addition to the other supplements I am taking, as well as the Pronutrients Omega-3 I am also taking the Centrum Specialist Complete Multivitamin for Energy. It contains Vitamin B and Ginseng to help give you energy and vitality. I think I have noticed a bit of a difference with my energy level since taking them. After all I’m here writing this post and not taking my suggested 20 minute nap. LOL!
