Now that school is either back in session, or it’s almost back to school time, kids need to get back into the “swing of things.” That means homework, gym class, writing and reading, among other things.
If your child needs to get motivated to get back into reading, or they happen to love reading, let me introduce you to a delightful book series called Ninja Kitties.
Ninja Kitties is a series of books and activities featuring seven royal kittens who transform into ninjas to save the day. Their names are Zumi, Sora, Drago, Leon, Mia, Hana, and Bee-Bee.
Here is some additional information about the book series.
These fierce kitties are the perfect superheroes for ages 5 to 8. Storylines in each book revolve around social and emotional learning lessons that will help guide children as they face their own challenges. Stories are relatable, with sibling and family dynamics taking center stage, and also inspirational (never giving up, the power of teamwork, and believing in oneself!) Each Ninja Kitty also has his or her own special power and personality, providing an opportunity for kids to truly connect and relate to one or more kitties. In fact, you can discover “Which Ninja Kitty Are You?” in this fun quiz.
“As kids and parents are navigating today’s complicated and nuanced landscape in their journey through childhood,” says brand advisor Sujata Luther, a former EVP of Nickelodeon Consumer Insights. “Ninja Kitties is the perfect stage for teaching valuable life lessons.”
I had the opportunity to check out some of the books available in the series.
At first glance you might think that this is more so a book series for girls. While it’s true that most of the kitties are female, some are male. Plus boys tend to love ninja related things compared to girls. However, I think these books are great for both genders. The stories can be enjoyed by boys and girls, plus the activities are not gender based.
I also happen to know plenty of males who love cats. My son for example. He’s in his 20’s and he’s totally smitten with all of our cats.
The books are soft covered, which make the pages easy to bend when doing the activities.
The stories are quick and entertaining, and there is a “moral” to the stories, which make it a great talking point for parents and children who might enjoy this book together.
One of my favorite parts to these books are all the fun activities found inside. It’s not just a story book. It’s an activity book too.
Your child (with your help) can go online to the Ninja Kitties website and take a quiz that tells you which Ninja Kitty character you are most like. You can find that quiz here – Take the Ninja Kitties Quiz!
I took the quiz. I got Sora. I find that funny because I am far from fast and I’m certainly not a fashionista. Ha Ha.
There is another fun thing about these books – STICKERS! Lots of stickers!
I don’t know about your child/grandchild, but my kids were obsessed with stickers when they were younger. I have stickers I give out to the kids at work and they can’t get enough of them. We even tried to make our own stickers as a craft one day.
The Ninja Kitties books are the official Ninja Kitties website, NinjaKitties.com. The website also has FREE Ninja Kitties coloring pages that you can download and print out for your child.
All of the Ninja Kitties books are also available on Kindle through Amazon. However, I think a child would rather have the printed copy because they can do the activities and because the books come with stickers.
If you are interested, you can find the Kindle versions here.
Ninja Kitties can also be found on social media. All of those links are found on the bottom of the Ninja Kitties official website.
What do you think about Ninja Kitties? Do you think your child/grandchild would enjoy learning more about them?
