I still remember when my children were little. I have visions of how I wanted their rooms to look. For our daughter it was all about Walt Disney characters. For our son, it was nothing but trucks, cars and planes.
I love to decorate my home. It actually gives me anxiety to see a blank wall. When we had our condo on the market a couple of years ago when removed everything off the wall (as per the real estate agent). It drove me NUTS seeing blank walls in every room. I was so glad when we were able to put things back up again.
A year or so ago I learned about wall decals. I wish they were available when my kids were little. It would have been fun to change up the look of their room without having to go through all the trouble (and expense) of re-painting it and buying new wall decor.
If you are not familiar with wall decals, they are similar to window clings but they are made to stick to your wall. Some are more like stickers (meant to be somewhat permanent) and others are meant to be removed whenever you want.
I have tried several wall decals. Sadly, some of them have ripped the paint off the wall or I found impossible to peel off. For that reason I have been a little turned off from them. That is until I was introduced to Gianimo. Gianimo wall decals are printed on a unique fabric based material which can be re-positioned as many times as you want without damaging the wall.
In addition, Gianimo wall decals are sold in mini-adventure packs that contains a full cast of quirky characters, props and background elements. They are stories that you can play out on your walls! The brand refers to them as “stories that stick.”
Currently Gianimo mini-adventures are available in the following sets.
Gianimo wall decals allows both parents and children to set them up in any way they see fit. You or your child can create a story based on the characters and have them play out on the wall. They can also be used as fun and colorful wall decorations that could inspire adventurous stories when your child looks at them.
The Gianimo wall decals come in a variety of sizes – some are rather large. Each set comes with large pieces and several smaller pieces.
I was sent to review the Princess Roomania set (it’s Roomania – NOT Romania). I chose this set to review because I thought the little “dust bunny” creatures were adorable. I also like the butterflies.
These decals (stickers?) were super easy to take off the backing. Unlike window clings where you have to keep picking at the edge to pull it up, these had a specific spot already prepared for you to remove it from the packaging. These were SUPER EASY to remove. That was the first thing I was impressed with.
I was worried about how well these would stink and remove. I didn’t want to tear off anymore paint from our walls (which is what has happened in the past with other wall decals). Thankfully these peeled off easily and with no issues whatsoever.
I don’t know how long these will stick for, so I don’t know how many times you can stick them and remove them. I would suggest putting them in a way that makes sense to you and leaving them alone. If you find you need to move something down the road, then it would be OK to un-peel them and move them elsewhere. I don’t think these are something that your child can peel off and re-stick again and again. Then again, I haven’t tried it personally so I don’t know. These are meant more as decoration and inspiration for you and your child/grandchild to create your own stories and adventures with.
The design are adorable! I think the brand could easily turn them into story books.
The decals are a decent size, colorful and look good where ever you place them.
I have the little “dust bunnies” (I’m not sure what they really are) on the closet door and the butterflies on two other doors. I positioned the castle just behind a bookcase to make it look like the castle was on top of the bookcase (hopefully I described that correctly).
These are a fun way to add decoration and “interest” in any room. You are not limited to where you can place these. For example, I think the Sock Monsters set would be a great addition to a laundry room.

What do you think about Gianimo? Do they look like something you could use in your child/grandchild’s room? Which is your favorite set?

The Sock Monsters is really cute. I like that there is no commitment and the theme can be changed easily.
