This time of year there is so much to celebrate. Between Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years, there are plenty of great reasons to get together with family and friends.
Many people love to celebrate the holidays with champagne and fine wine. Others prefer cocktails and other grown-up beverages.
I was recently introduced to a beverage that I never heard of until now – Black Irish by Mariah Carey. Mariah Carey is a global superstar with hits like All I Want for Christmas is You, One Sweet Day, Hero and Always Be My Baby, to name a few. No offense to the artist, but after Christmas I don’t want to hear All I Want for Christmas is You for another eleven months (ha ha – just kidding). It is a very popular and frequently played holiday song. There is even a very sweet animated holiday film by the same name (All I Want for Christmas is You) that came out in 2017.
I would never associate something like Irish whiskey with Mariah Carey. I didn’t know that she was Irish. Her father is half African American and half Venezuelan while her mother Patricia is Irish.

I received the gift set to review. My apologies for not getting my review up sooner. I was dealing with a not-so-nice stomach bug (drinking alcohol with a stomach bug is not the most ideal situation). But like I said, the flavors are available year round, just not the gift set.
Versatile and luxurious, Black Irish is perfect for sipping solo, enjoying over ice, or mixing into coffee, cocktails, desserts, and even baking. Its rich, indulgent flavor makes it the perfect addition to any celebration.
This Irish cream is very rich in flavor. I reminds me of another popular Irish Cream brand, but I think that the Black Irish is a bit richer in flavor. It’s a bit “chocolatey” and I can taste a touch of vanilla. It’s definitely tasty, and I was pleasantly surprised. Normally I don’t put much thought into celebrity products because I feel like such products are sub-par and you are only paying for the name/brand and not the actual product. I honestly enjoyed Black Irish by Mariah Carey.
I really want to try the salted caramel variety. That sounds amazing!
I can drink Irish Cream “as is,” but I prefer it splashed in a cup of coffee. I want to try it on hot chocolate next. A splash of Black Irish in a rich cup of hot cocoa, topped with some whipped cream… yum!

You can tell that Mariah Carey has a lot to do with this beverage. The bottles have a butterfly on them, as well as on the lid. Mariah Carey’s signature is a butterfly.
The mug that came with the limited edition gift set even has a butterfly handle and her initials in gold.
