If you read my blog on a regular basis you know that we have an abundance of pets – five cats, a dog who thinks he’s a cat and a Goldfish that fears the cats to be exact. LOL!
Our pets are a very important part of our family. Sometimes I think they are more like furry, four-legged “people,” and not animals (except Fishy – he has no fur, or legs).
We love to spoil our pets and show them how much they mean to us. They have plenty of soft and comfy places to sleep – including the loveseat which we let them have so they would stay off the couch and my husband’s chair (we refer to it as the “hair chair”). They have a lot of toys (our dog even has his own toy box). They get groomed, visit the vet and a couple of them get special medications due to health issues they have. There isn’t anything we wouldn’t do for them to ensure that they have happy, healthy lives.
Finding pet food is never easy. First and foremost our cats all like different things. Our cat Bella is super picky when it comes to food, and she gets bored easily. She also prefers canned over dry food. My husband and I always joke about how she’s not into “xxx” food this week (but next week she will be). On the flip side, our cat Padmé doesn’t like canned food. She’ll only eat dry food.

I won’t get started on flavors… each seems to have their own favorite. Bella for instance (the picky one) LOVES turkey. Anything turkey flavored she’ll gobble up. She also likes Whitefish.
Our dog Espn (pronounced Es-pin) will eat lint! He’s not picky at all.
Our pets have tried a variety of foods over the years. Some they love, some they can’t stand, and some that are just so-so.

Stop & Shop sent me some of their Companion Wholesome Formula pet foods to try out with our “mini-zoo.”
We received dog food and cat food, both canned/wet and dry.
Espn never has an issue with food. Like I said, the dog will eat anything. He’s not picky at all.
We have to be a bit careful with Espn. He has a sensitive stomach and some foods cause him to get very bad diareha. So we are cautious when giving him new foods.
He never had an issue with the Companion Wholesome Formula dog foods – thankfully. He just gobbled it right up every time we serve him some. He even liked the dry food.
Our cats also seemed pleased with the cat food. In fact, Bella is OBESSED (and I’m not exaggerating) with Companion Wholesome Formula grain free turkey & vegetables packaged wet food. You can even see the vegetables in it (peas and carrots).
It looks similar to the food pictured below (the picture is of a different flavor variety).
She prefers the turkey variety over all other cat food – including the food she used to eat all the time up until the time we tried Companion Wholesome Formula. She will eat other foods, but she goes crazy for the turkey variety from this brand.
Thankfully Bella eats like a bird. One pouch translates into two servings for her. Otherwise each of our cats eats an entire pouch on their own.
The only negative I can think of is that the pieces are a bit large. I have to chop them up before serving them to Bella. She has a hard time with the larger pieces. My other cats seem to do OK with them.
Compared to other foods found right next to Companion Wholesome Formula foods, this brand is more “budget friendly.” Not only that, for the price you are getting a pet food made with;.
