I’m a mom and I look forward to what my kids give me each year. Now that they are teenagers they like to purchase gifts for me. To be honest I wish they were still little. I enjoyed the handmade gifts they would give me such as things made out of Play-Doh and pictures they drew especially for me.
I enjoy getting flowers and I can’t resist chocolate. They are great Mother’s Day gifts. The only downside is that they last for just a short amount of time. Flowers eventually die and chocolate quickly disappears (at least it does in my home). Knick knacks (aka “Chachkies”) are nice too, but dusting them can be a pain in the you-know-what.
I love fun things. My desk is covered in toys and fun little do-dads. I also enjoy bath & body products and entertainment.
Blu-rays and DVDs are often overlooked as gift ideas. Personally I wouldn’t mind receiving my favorite film or TV series on Blu-ray or DVD.
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has a variety of Blu-rays, DVDs and Digital Downloads that would make a great gift for that special lady in your life. Here are just a few suggestions.
Nicholas Sparks Limited Edition DVD Collection – Available for the first time in one collection, the gift set features seven films based on the best-selling author’s novels, including Safe Haven, The Lucky One, Dear John, Nights in Rodanthe, A Walk to Remember, Message in a Bottle and The Notebook. Nicholas Sparks is one of the world’s most renowned storytellers as well as a social media phenomenon whose books, movies and personal pages combine to make him one of the most popular people on all of Facebook. All 17 of his novels have been New York Times bestsellers, published in more than 50 languages, with more than 90 million copies in print worldwide, including more than 60 million copies in the United States alone. The Nicholas Sparks Limited Edition DVD Collection, which includes a special postcard set with images from each film and a letter from Nicholas Sparks, is available for now.
I reviewed this set not too long ago. You can read my review here – A Great Valentine’s Day Gift Idea – The Nicholas Sparks DVD Collection. I also reviewed all the films on my site. Simply search for each title to find my review.

I would LOVE it if my kids (or hubby) gave me this set. It sounds wonderful. I am a big fan of the movie too.
Bridges of Madison County – A romantic classic brought to Blu-ray for the first time! World-traveling National Geographic photographer Robert Kincaid and Iowa housewife Francesca Johnson aren’t looking to turn their lives upside down. Each is at a point in life where expectations are behind them. Yet four days after meeting, they won’t want to lose the love they’ve found. Academy Award winners’ Meryl Streep (earning her 10th Oscar nomination for this performance) and Clint Eastwood (who also produces and directs) bring blazing star power and powerful conviction to the beloved characters of Robert James Waller’s best seller of love, choice and consequence. With luck, a love like that happens to some of us sooner or later. For Robert and Francesca, it was later. And it was glorious. Bridges of Madison County will be available May 6.
I love this film too. It’s so sweet. I actually read the book before I saw the film.
The Women – Celebrating 75 years of this classic film, The Women (1939) is brought to Blu-ray for the first time! Be careful what you say in private. It could become a movie. Some gossip overheard by Clare Boothe Luce in a nightclub powder room inspired her Broadway hit that’s wittily adapted for the screen in The Women. George Cukor directs an all-female cast in this catty tale of battling and bonding that paints its claws Jungle Red and shreds the excesses of pampered Park Avenue princesses. Joan Crawford, Rosalind Russell, Joan Fontaine, Mary Boland and Paulette Goddard are among the array of husband snatchers, snitches and lovelorn ladies. The Women will be available May 6.
I have never seen this film but I’ve heard about it. Maybe this might be a bigger hit with a grandmother or someone who is into classic movies.
Veronica Mars – Following a successful theatrical release that was spurred into development by a record-breaking Kickstarter campaign, Veronica Mars arrives onto Blu-ray and DVD in time for Mother’s Day. Based on Rob Thomas’ beloved television series and inspired by demand from fans, Veronica Mars stars Kristen Bell as a former high-school sleuth who thought she left her past behind her, until a murder in her home town pulls her back into her old life. Directed by the television series’ creator Rob Thomas from a screenplay by Thomas & Diane Ruggiero, Veronica Mars also stars Jason Dohring, Krysten Ritter, Ryan Hansen, Francis Capra, Percy Daggs III, Chris Lowel, Tina Majorino and Enrico Colantoni, all returning to the roles they originated in the television series. Veronica Mars will be available May 6.
I know A LOT of people who are totally into Veronica Mars and were super excited to hear a full length movie was coming to theaters.
You can find these and other movies on the Warner Bros. Shop website, www.WBShop.com.
If there a movie or TV series you would love to receive as a gift? Feel free to share your thoughts.

I love the Wizard of Oz and would love to have the collection. My grandchildren have never seen the Wizard of Oz because they do not have cable television. This would be a great package for the kids as well as the parents.
