The Minions are coming! The Minions are coming! The Minions are coming to your television if you pick up a copy of the Minion movie – now available on Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Download.
My family and I are bit fans of the Despicable Me movies (the first one is the best). Our favorite characters from the films are the adorable Twinkie-looking creatures known only as the Minions. When we heard they were having their own movie we were excited about it.
As usual we were unable to make it to the theater to see that film. That is why I was excited for the movie’s Blu-ray/DVD release.
The Minions are everywhere – including merchandise, food products and product advertisements.
Have you seen the PEEPS® Minions? They are too cute to eat!
The PEEPS® Minions are available in large Banana Crème Flavored Minion and smaller PEEPS® Marshmallow Minions.
To honor the PEEPS® Minions taste testers, for the first time ever PEEPS® has created a Minion-shaped marshmallow reflecting their fun PEEPSONALITY®. Fans can also enjoy limited edition comics on the back of the packaging made exclusively for PEEPS® by Universal Studios filmmakers.
PEEPS® introduces a new banana crème flavored marshmallow in honor of the beloved Minions characters. Three varieties of the individually packed large Minions include the likeness of Kevin, Stuart and Bob – stars of the Minions movie available on DVD this holiday season.
I feel somewhat “mean” (for lack of a better description) biting the head off of a Minion. But they taste so good that its hard to resist.
I was a little iffy about the idea of a banana crème flavor, but it’s actually not that bad. It’s not “overly banana” tasting, if that makes any sense?
MIKE AND IKE®, another brand from PEEPS & COMPANY®, also has a Minion themed candy called Minions Mix. The candies don’t have Minion faces on them, but they do come in blue and yellow which are Minion colors (yellow bodies and blue overalls). Very cute and creative! I love the different boxes too.
In honor of the success of the Despicable Me movie franchise and holiday DVD release, MIKE AND IKE® has debuted a limited time only offering of MIKE AND IKE® MINION MIX. This fun variety comes with three different designs on pack – making them a collectable item for every Minion lover. Made with real fruit juice, fans will enjoy the sweet and tasty goodness of Blue Raspberry and Banana flavors.
My family and I enjoyed Family Movie Night this past weekend with our PEEPS & COMPANY® candies as well as pizza from Dominos (I LOVE their Pineapple & Mushroom pizza!).
PEEPS & COMPANY® also sent us some other fun “essentials” including a super soft and colorful PEEPS® pillow, a PEEPS® beverage tumbler, and snugly PEEPS® blanket and a popcorn bowl which we used to fill up with some Pop Secret popcorn that we had in our pantry.
If you follow me on Instagram you might have seen the PEEPS® pillow in one of my photos.
I took the photo because I thought our cat Bella (pictured) looked so cute sleeping. Our PEEPS® pillow happened to be next to her on the couch (the other cat you see is also a pillow).
Check out the super duper adorable (and soft!) PEEPS® fleece blanket. I love it!
Here is the pillow and blanket (the colors are off – the real colors are most like the one in the photo above).
I should forewarn you that using the blanket and pillow together will most likely cause you to doze off. LOL!
I appreciate all the goodies that PEEPS & COMPANY® sent my family to enjoy while watching the film.

The Minions movie was just as fun as I knew it would be.
The movie starts off with the Minions back in pre-historic times (pre-Gru).
The Minions purpose in life is to “serve” someone (or something – like a T-Rex). Even though their hearts are in the right places something always gets messed up and the Minions “get the boot.”
We see the Minions continue their quest to find someone they can serve, through Egyptian Pharaohs to Napoleon. Once again something inevitably goes wrong.
The poor Minions are then banished to Antarctica. It’s not exactly where they want to be. Finally a brave Minion named Kevin decides to head out to find a new person they can serve. He takes along with him one-eyed Stuart and cute little Bob. The trio set off to find a new place the Minions can call “home.”
The trio end up at Villain-Con (think Comic-con but for bad people – LOL). There they meet Walter and Madge Nelson. The Minions team up with them for a brief time until they meet the ultimate villain of all – Scarlet Overkill. She wants to steal the crown jewels from the Queen of England so that she can take over and become queen. The Minions are more than happy to help her out since their purpose in life is to serve evil doers.
Will they succeed in helping Scarlet Overkill take over the role of the Queen of England? Will the other Minions ever find their way out of Antarctica? To find out you need to pick up a copy of Minions, now available where movies are sold.
Minions is a cute movie. If you are a fan of the Despicable Me films, and enjoyed the Minions in those films, then you’ll enjoy this film which is all about them (not Gru and the girls).
This movie appeals to young and old alike. It’s one of those films where little kids might find something funny that adults don’t, and vice-versa. There are plenty of thing in the film that only grown up would understand and appreciate.
According to one of the bonus features there are several “Easter Eggs” (an unexpected or undocumented feature in a piece of computer software or on a DVD, included as a joke or a bonus) hidden in the movie. Keep an eye out for them.
There is a lot of slap-stick style humor and plenty of gibberish (the Minion language).
The quality of the animation is awesome. It’s hard to put it into words, but the animation is top notch.
The soundtrack is wonderful too featuring “oldies but goodies” from The Turtles, The Kinks, The Who and Donovan.
There are plenty of bonus features worth checking out too, most especially the three bonus “mini movies.”
- CroMinion
- Competition
- Binky Nelson Unpacified
There are also deleted scenes, an interactive map and several featurettes which go behind the scenes with the making of this film including interviews with the animators, writers and music department.
If you are looking for a great movie for your next Family Movie Night, or a fun “stocking stuffer,” pick up a copy of Minions – now available where movies are sold.
