If you read my blog regularly you have probably heard me mention how much I LOVE bath and body products. I do like good make up too, but I would choose a sugar scrub over a mascara any day.
I love bath and body products. I think I have an addiction. LOL!
Let’s face it – showers and baths can be boring. It’s nice to jazz things up a bit with something the smells great or makes your skin look and/or feel fabulous.
I have reviewed products from a brand called Natura Culina in the past. I have tried out their luscious Chocolate Sugar Body Scrub and Lavender Shea Butter. Both products I absolutely loved. You can read my review here – Indulge Yourself in Fat Free, Sugar Free, Calorie Free Fabulous Chocolate. It’s pictured above.
Natura Culina full believes that “green is clean.” The company believes in the healing power of plants and trusts that you can achieve more with less. That is why their products are made with minimal ingredients that are all natural and organic. They want consumers to know exactly what they are putting on their body.
You can read their mission statement as well as an interview with the company’s owner on the brand’s “About” page.
I totally agree that the products we put on our body – as well as in our body – should be as close to natural as possible. Decades ago products were not made with dozens of hard to pronounce, and hard to understand, ingredients. Even an ordinary bar of soap found on store shelves is made with ingredients I have no clue what they are.
Natura Culina is very transparent about the ingredients used in their products – so much so that they are listed on their website for each and every product that they sell.
Natura Culina sent me some more products to try out.
This soap really intrigued me. It’s made with Olive Oil, Coconut Oil*, Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter*, Freshly Roasted & Caffeinated Coffee, Sodium Hydroxide, Zinc Oxide, Lavender, Vanilla, Mint Essential Oils. *Certified Organic.
Freshly roasted coffee? As a coffee lover, I love knowing that the soap is made with real coffee.
Caffeine, when applied topically, is actually good for your skin. I have heard of this before. It’s not “new news,” but not too many people are aware of the benefits of caffeine for your skin. I’ve read that it can reduce cellulite, firm and tightens skin, but did you also know that caffeine can help even skin tone, repair UV damage and help reduce redness (caffeine has free radicals and anti-inflammatory properties).
Natura Culina has two different Perk Me Up Coffee Soaps available – exfoliating and smooth. The exfoliating soap is made with real coffee grounds. The smooth does not have the grounds in it.
I have the exfoliate soap. This time of year my skin gets incredibly dry. The exfoliate helps to remove dead skin cells and leave my skin looking and feeling soft and smooth.
Be careful – exfoliates can be harsh on your skin if you scrub too hard. You need to use this soap gently. If you are too rough the soap becomes abrasive.
I don’t feel it as much on my body and arms, but when I use this soap on my legs they feel a bit tingly – but in a good way. It might be the caffeine. I’m not sure. I would think I would feel it all over if that was the case.
I love this soap. I love how it makes my skin feel and the scent is amazing. It’s not a true coffee scent. The soap is made with mint, vanilla and lavender, so all those scents favor into the overall scent of the soap. There is a touch of a coffee scent to it as well. It’s very refreshing. I use this soap 2-3 times per week (like every other day).
When I am not using the Perk Me Up Soap I am using Natura Culina’s Lavender Body Wash.
If you love the scent of lavender you will LOVE this body wash.
Lavender is known to have a relaxing quality about it. That is why people use lavender products before bedtime. However lavender can be enjoyed all day long because it does relax you. Let’s face it, on a hectic weekday morning some of us need a little peace. Take for example my home – we have four people trying to get ready at the same time with one bathroom. Not to mention we have a tiny kitchen which is crowded enough with two people in it let alone four people.
Knowing how crazy it’s going to be the moment I step out of the shower, having that 5-10 minutes of calm is a nice way to start my day.
The Lavender Body Wash washes well and rinses of completely. I do not feel any sticky or slimy residue. It leaves your skin feeling fresh, clean and delightful.
The Lavender Body Wash does not contain any SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate). This ingredient is very toxic and should be avoid. Google it if you want to learn more.
Many bath products on the market contain this chemical ingredient. Natura Culina’s body wash is Sulfates free.
A wonderful addition to the Lavender Body Wash (and even the Perk Me Up Soap) is to follow up with Natura Culina’s Morning Lavender Body Lotion.
I think one big mistake many people do – including men – it not applying lotion as soon as they get out of the shower. When your body is warm and moist it’s the best time to apply lotion because it will absorb into your skin better. I tell my husband, daughter and son all the time to apply lotion as soon as they get out of the shower – especially this time of year when skin starts to get dry. I even go so far as to leave the bottle of lotion on the sink for them to see.
Lotion is important. You need to give your skin the extra moisture it needs.
Natura Culina’s Morning Lavender Body Lotion not only smells wonderful, it’s also quick to absorb into your skin and leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth. I would even go as far as to say the lotion makes my skin feel a little tingly when I apply it. I think that has to do with the lavender.
Other products from Natura Culina worth checking out include;
Honey C Lip Balm – My daughter is on medication that dries her skin out severely. She has tried plenty of lip balm/conditioners on the market with no luck. So far this lip balm has been helping her lips from getting so dried out that the split and bleed. This lip balm is thick and tends to stay on the lips longer. So far my daughter tells me she is pleased with this product.
Nourishing Bath Salts – Let me tell you, after a busy or stressful day, soaking in a tub with bath salts is like heaven on Earth.
Natura Culina sent me a package of bath salts named “Delight” (Sweet Vanilla with soothing Lavender). Oh my goodness! You have to smell this blend. I was reluctant to try the product because I didn’t want the scent to go away.
There are several blends available, including unscented.
The bag is large enough that you can divide it up into more than one bath if you wanted to. You only need 2-3 handfuls. One bag will last for several baths.
The salts help to scent your bath and the scent floats in the air around your tub. The combination of warm water, heavenly scent and the benefits of the sea salt turns your bath into a spa experience.
All of these products are found on the Nutura Culina website, NaturaCulina.com. You can also check out the brand on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
With the holiday season upon us these products (and others found at Nutura Culina) would make wonderful holiday gifts. You could put some together to create a gift basket, or toss a few products into a stocking (stocking stuffers).
