Earlier today, while I was doodling with the kids I work with, my co-worker and I got into a conversation about how coloring books for adults has become very popular. We wondered how this trend got started.
I have been coloring all my life – including my adult life. I was a fan long before it was an “in” thing to do. I have dozens of coloring books.
My husband also likes to color. Every Christmas “Santa” brings him a new box of crayons. He enjoys coloring scenery. I like to color just about anything.
I know so many adults who are really into coloring.
If you are looking for a gift idea for an adult who loves to color, or perhaps someone who hasn’t got into it yet, but most likely will, I have two gift ideas work checking out. They are both from the publishing company Parragon.
Maker Crafts: Flower Art
This is a fun set that includes not only coloring pages, but also instructions and supplies to make paper flowers.
My fingers are not very nimble. I tried to make a flower but it didn’t turn out well. The instructions are easy to follow – it’s just that I have fat, stubby little fingers that didn’t want to cooperate. I am trying to have my teen daughter to help me make them, but she’s been busy with work, her boyfriend and friends.
I LOVE the coloring pages that come with this set. Here are just two of them to give you an idea of what you’ll receive in this set.
Everything comes in a beautiful keepsake box that can be re-purposed when you are done with it.
The other book I received to review from Parragon would also make a great gift for someone who loves to color, or someone who is interested in hoping on the adult coloring “bandwagon.”
Just like the above mentioned gift set, this one also comes in a lovely tin that you can use when you are finished with the products.
My apologies for not getting a photo with the name on it. I had removed the cover and neglected to take a picture of it before it was opened.
Keepsake Coloring: Tranquilty
This set comes with a lot of fun things to color. It includes two nice size posters, a coloring book, a mini-coloring book that you can take with you where ever you go, and really nice colored pencils.
I like that they thought to include a mini coloring book. Its small enough to put in your purse/tote bag/backpack so you can take it with you where ever you go. That way you can color when you are at work (on break of course), waiting at the doctor’s office, or simply lounging on the beach.
The designs in both books are very nice. Some are easier to color that others. Many of them are just random patterns.
The whole idea is to let your mind go free and color as a form of relaxation, not so much as to color a piece of art you’ll hang on your wall. Hopefully you know what I mean?
I perfect coloring pages of actual things (flowers, bug, scene, animals…) but the patterns found in these book are growing on me.
I appreciate that the maker included a really nice set of colored pencils. The posters are a fun idea too. I am going to take them to work with me and let the kids color them together (group project).
If you are interested in learning more about either of these gift sets, or similar gift sets, you can visit the Parragon website at www.Parragon.com. They publish a variety of books and gift sets for both adults and children.
Parragon can also be found on social media. All of their links are found on the bottom of their website.
Are you a fan of adult coloring? Do you have any adult coloring books?
What do you think about these lovely gift sets?
