Does your family have any specific holiday traditions? I think most families do. For me and my little family we always go out to eat at a fancy restaurant for Christmas Eve, then afterwards we drive around local neighborhoods and check out the holiday displays.
We used to have Christmas Eve dinner with my husband’s family. They are Italian and had the “Feast of the Seven Fishes.” My mother in law made every seafood imaginable as well as baked ziti and roast beef for the non-seafood lovers in the family. After she died the family went their separate ways.
When I was younger we had traditions too. For example, my stocking always contained an orange, apple, a new box of crayons and one of those boxes of LifeSaver candies that looked like books.
I have no clue how it started, but another tradition was to give my father, grandfather and uncle malted milkballs for Christmas. I THINK it started from when I was really little and didn’t have a lot of money so I would buy my grandfather (he’s dad to me because he raised me) candy and his favorite was malted milkballs. I believe it all stemmed from that.
My great-grandfather LOVED the Melt Away Mints from Hickory Farms. They were his all time favorite. Family members, like myself, would keep an eye out for the “pop up” Hickory Farm stores that would come to our mall during the holiday season. Back then there was no internet and as a child I wasn’t able to order from a catalog. I needed those pop up stores to get my beloved great-grandfather his favorite holiday treat.
Hickory Farms is a family holiday tradition. Even though my great-grandfather passed away in the 1980’s, I still enjoy picking up a bag (or two) of Melt Away Mints from Hickory Farms. It bring back such wonderful childhood memories of the holiday season.
Hickory Farms has been a holiday tradition to millions of families for more than 60 years.

I have tried their Signature Party Planner Gift Box and it is really good.
Hickory Farms has a proud tradition of supporting the military and offers complimentary shipping on select gifts to military addresses around the world throughout the year. For all our brave men and women do in the armed forces it’s nice to know that Hickory Farms offers free shipping (on select gifts). I’m sure they appreciate delicious gifts from Hickory Farms.
I think many people might associate Hickory Farms with cheese and sausages. It’s true that they do offer consumers such delights, but they also carry other products including confections and baked goods.
This year my family was able to try out baked goods from Hickory Farms. We were sent to review their Chocolate Decadence Trio. The boxed gift set contains;
- Chocolate Chunk Brownies
- Triple Chocolate Chip Cookies
- Espresso Chocolate Chip Cookies
You know when a product is really good when something goes MISSING before you even get a chance to try it. The Triple Chocolate Chips Cookies were GONE – literally – before I had a chance to try one. My husband and kids gobbled them up as if they never had a chocolate chip cookie before. LOL! I take it that they were good since they were all gone.
I did get to try the other two goodies.
The Espresso Chocolate Chip Cookies had a nice balance of chocolate and espresso flavors. Think of it as a chocolate chip cookie with a “kick.” It was a nice change of pace from regular chocolate chip cookies.
The Chocolate Chunk Brownies are decadent. They were very hearty and chocolaty. They were a meal in themselves. One was more than enough.

Hickory Farms has the absolute best Holiday treat bundles. I so remember their sausage and cheese boxes as I was growing-up. Today, I still grab one for the family from the pop-up store at the mall. Delicious!!
