It’s inevitable. We all have bad days. Some more than others. In fact I’m having an especially stressful day today.
No matter how bad your mood is there is usually something that can help eliviate it. Sometimes just blowing off steam helps. Other times a silly joke or a child giggling is enough to melt away your bad day. Often my mood improves when I spend some time playing with our dog or snuggling with one of our cats. A happy dog and a soft, fuzzy kitty is enough to make my mood improve. Even watching our fish peacefully swimming around their tank can take the edge off a bad day.
Did you know that even watching videos of puppies and kittens has been known to not only relieve stress but also help to increase concentration?
There are plenty of cute animal videos on YouTube. Instead of watching the same videos over and over again why not experience the cuteness first hand as it happens by watching LIVE webcams.
Thanks to Animal Planet L!VE you have your choice of any of their current 11 live camera to enjoy. They have live streaming of everything from baby chicks, calves and whales to penguins, kittens and puppies.
For those of you who want something a bit less traditional (and a bit more creepy) you can check out their live cockroaches and ants cams. Eww!
They even have a live jellyfish cam. I find them very relaxing to watch.
Here is a little more detail about some of their more unique offerings.
Ant Cam
A childhood ant farm has nothing on this colony of leafcutter ants from Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium in New Orleans.
Beluga Cam

In one of several cams from explore.org‘s Pearls of the Planet collection, the sleek Beluga whales from Vancouver Aquarium are put in the spotlight, entrancing audiences.
Calf Cam
Watch baby calves find their legs and explore a whole new world from the South Mountain Creamery in Middletown, Maryland.
Chick Cam
Spring has sprung for these adorable chicks that, along with the calves, call the South Mountain Creamery home.
Cockroach Cam
While feelings may be mixed on these creatures that have inhabited our planet since the Cretaceous period, viewers will be mesmerized by their activity and surprise setting inspired by the southern home of Audubon Butterfly Garden and Insectarium.
One of my favorite live streaming cameras is of the wild birds. I love Bluebirds. They are so pretty.
The only downside to the live streaming cams is that sometimes the animals or critters are sleeping and are not very entertaining. The random commercials that pop up too can be a bit of a turn off, but I understand that they are needed to provide the live cams free for all to enjoy.
The next time you are having a bad day stop by the Kitten cam, or for those with a bit more of a quirky side, check out what those icky cockroaches are up to.

My fur babies do help when I have a bad day but cockroaches definitely would not help at all. Little puppies, kitties, calves, bunnies, etc are all fun to watch though 🙂

I have 2 dogs, 4 cats and 2 sugar gliders and they always chase away my bad days. All I need is a hug from them and I feel better!

I like looking at funny dog videos because they make me laugh. The other day I laughed so hard because this dog is hanging from a branch trying to get it down and he is swinging back and forth in the air howling to get the branch. It was hilarious. I have a dog that barks when he hears other dogs bark. So I go on Youtube and play sounds of dogs barking, and he barks along with them. It is so funny!

I could would like the kitties or the puppies. The whales would also be could. My question is why would you want to watch the cockroaches. The only thing they would make me want to do is clean my house and then take shower.

I am a firm believer that animals can be good for your health. Live animals that is in this case. I know that my Zuzu brings me comfort, laughter and companionship every day. But I adore kitten and puppy videos. They are too cute! Probably why I have eight cats!

In October I started a new job as a dog walker – mostly out of boredome. To say I’m in it for the dogs and the exercise does not even begin to describe the positive impact these animals have on my mental health.

Videos like the ones you have described and posted really are perfect for totally distracting your busy, stressed mind from its current worries. I love watching animals, and who doesn’t get warm and fuzzy inside at seeing baby puppies and kittens and such?

The jellyfish is super awesome. I had no idea these existed. It’s amazing what our furry friends can do for us. In seconds she lifts my spirits. All else goes away when I am with her. Can’t say the same for insects of any kind though.

I always try to seek out something funny or soothing when I’m in a bad mood. Looking at cute animal photos is one of my choice routines, but catching a live stream is probably even better. Thanks for all the links! I didn’t know Animal Planet offered such services. I’ll be adding these to my list of options when I do feel sad or curious.
