Do you wear perfume? Do you have a “signature scent,” meaning a perfume you enjoy wearing all the time?
Funny backstory. When I graduated from high school, my father took me on a trip around Europe (yes, I was spoiled by him). My grandmother tagged along so that I didn’t drive my father nuts (ha ha). When we were in Kennedy Airport in New York City, my grandmother kept smelling a perfume that she absolutely hated. She smelled it again at Heathrow Airport in London, U.K. In fact, she smelled it often. However, she smelled it pretty much every where we went in Paris, France.
I had heard of a perfume by Dior called “Poison” that I really wanted to purchase while in Paris. After all, it seemed like the thing to do (buy a fancy perfume in Paris). I also loved the bottle.
We found a perfume shop while in Paris and they carried the Poison perfume I wanted. I was happy to purchase it (it was $$$$$ even for a small bottle). I didn’t even care what it smelled like. I just wanted it. As it turns out, that perfume my grandmother kept smelling every where we went that she couldn’t stand was Dior’s Poison perfume! She wouldn’t let me wear it the entire trip. I had to wait until we retuned to the states, and I couldn’t wear it in her presence. LOL!
Anyway…
These days I don’t have a signature scent. I like to wear a variety of perfumes. What I wear depends on my mood and the occasion. If I’m in a good mood and going to work, I’ll wear something light and airy (florals usually). If I’m on a date night with my husband, I’ll wear something sexy (musk, spices).
I love to try out different scents, especially ones I never heard of, or I never had the opportunity to try out. I’m not one to visit the mall or high end department stores. It’s not my “thing.”
There is a great way to not only ensure that you never run out of your favorite scent(s), as well as try out new fragrances. It’s called Scentbird.
Scentbird is a fragrance subscription service that sends you a 30-day supply of designer fragrance every month, which you can cancel at any time. They also offer free shipping. This is a fun way to try out new fragrances and discover new favorites.
Scentbird fragrances come in 8ml vials that can be used with the special Scentbird fragrance cases, which come in a variety of colors. The case allows you to take your fragrance with you on-the-go. The cases fit nicely in a purse, backpack, duffel bag and luggage. You can see the various case option here.
Scentbird carries an impressive assortment of popular fragrances from designer names like Ralph Lauren, Bentley, Burberry, Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein, Coach, Juicy Couture, Donna Karan, Versace, Jimmy Choo, Dolce & Gabbana, and many more.
How Scentbird works is that you choose the plan you want to subscribe to (remember you can cancel at any time). Plans run from $16.95/mo. (standard scents) to $30.95 (high end fragrances). Your first month is sold at a discounted price. You can read more about the subscription plans here. There are options to subscribe to 2 and 3 perfumes per month as well.
Scentbird is not just for women. Men can enjoy this service too. Scentbird has many popular men’s colognes available.
I had the opportunity to try out Scentbird for myself. I had the opportunity to try Clinique’s “Happy Heart,” Versace’s “Bright Crystal,” and English Laundry’s “Abbey.” They are so pretty! I wear a different one each day. I have received several compliments, too bad I forget which one I put on that day in order to tell the person paying the compliment what I am wearing.
The vials are labeled with the scent name, but the cases are not since you and reuse the cases for other fragrances from Scentbird. I should do a better job at remembering which color case holds which scent.
Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and Father’s Day is next month. A subscription to Scentbird would make a great gift idea. Of course, Scentbird is great for yourself too.
If you are interested in learning more about Scentbird, or to check out all the scents they have available (HUNDREDS!) visit them online at Scentbird.com.
