Ahoy Mates!
Are you a fan of the brand Pirate’s Booty? My family and I love their Aged White Cheddar Puffs. We enjoy them often (I can’t get enough of them – I can eat a whole bag on my own!).
Recently we had the chance to try their new Fruity Booty snack.
Pirate’s Booty has launched another brand new snack – one I find very interesting. The new snack is made out of carrots.
I could not imagine how Pirate’s Booty would be able to make a puffed snack out of carrots. Carrots are also not something you see many snacks made out of. As soon as I heard about them it piqued my interest. I love carrots and I love Pirate’s Booty so this sounds like a great match.
The new snack is made with real carrots and corn. The snacks are baked to create a crispy puff, just like the brand’s Aged White Cheddar snack puff.
The first time I saw the new carrot snacks my first thought was that they resembled a cheese puff. Maybe that is not such a bad thing. It might make little ones think they are eating the high calorie, greasy cheesy puffs but instead they are enjoying a better for you option made out of carrots. Not only that, the carrot snacks are an excellent source of Vitamin A.
The carrot snacks are certified gluten free and contain 0 trans fat per serving and no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.
“Finding snack options that appeal to both parents and kids can be difficult, which is why we are pleased to offer new twists on the snack that everyone knows and loves, Pirate’s Booty,” said Michael Sands, executive vice president of snacks at B&G Foods. “Pirate’s Booty Carrot Snacks are tasty and fun for kids because they have a vibrant color and crispiness that kids look for in a snack.”
I will admit that initially I wasn’t overly keen on the flavor, but I love Pirate’s Booty snacks I gave the carrot snacks a fair chance. The taste grew on me. Now I do like them. I think it just took a bit because they have a unique flavor to them and I am so used to the Aged Cheddar flavor that my mind was thinking the carrot snacks would taste more like those snack puffs.
It’s an acquired taste. My husband didn’t like them and my daughter is “on the fence.” My son likes them and I like them. So I guess you need to try them for yourself to see how much you like these unique snack puffs.
You can find the new Pirate’s Booty Carrot Snacks where ever you buy Pirates Booty. They will have a suggested retail price of $3.19.
Since Easter is this coming weekend, I have a fun craft/treat idea that you might want to try out that features the new Pirate’s Booty Carrot Snacks. These would make a great addition to an Easter basket. I also think they would look cute on a dinner plate if you are having guests over for holiday dinner. They would service as a “party favor” and/or dessert.
It think it’s a cute idea to make a carrot out of carrot snacks.
To make these cute treats you’ll need some Pirate’s Booty Carrot Snacks, cone shaped plastic bags (available at craft stores or baking supply aisles) and some green ribbon.
Simply fill the cone bag most of the way with the carrot snacks, then tie off the opened end with the green ribbon.
These are so easy to make that young children could make them. This would be a fun activity to do as a family. If you are a teacher or work at a daycare this would also be fun to make with the kids too.
Even if you don’t celebrate Easter these are cute to make. You can make them as part of a Spring craft/theme.
I was going to make these in my classroom but it’s been very quiet at work and not many kids have come around.

Have you tried the new Pirate’s Booty Carrot Snacks yet? If so, what did you think about them?
How do you like this craft/treat idea? Does it look like something fun you’d like to make with your family?
