I try and cook foods from scratch whenever possible. I’m far from Rachel Ray or Martha Stewart, but I’d like to think I’m a pretty good cook. Even the best cooks don’t mind using short cuts from time to time.
Swanson has come up with an ingenious idea to help you add a dash of flavor to your recipes with their Swanson Flavor Boost packets. They are actually packets of concentrated seasoned flavors of Swanson broth. These handy liquid packets are 100% natural and contain no preservative or MSG.
The idea behind the Swanson Flavor Boost packets is to add a splash of flavor to your dishes without adding excess liquid. They are available in Chicken, Beef and Vegetable flavors. There are 8 packets per box.
You can use the flavor packets in a variety of recipes. For example, you can add the beef flavored boost to ground beef to add a burst of flavor to your hamburgers or meatloaf. The vegetable boost packets would be great to add some flavor to your stir fry. The beef flavored boost package would be great in a stir fried beef mixed with peppers and onions. Add them whenever you want to add some flavor to your meals or side dishes.
So far I’ve only tried the vegetable Swanson Flavor Boost. I’ve used them with veggie stir fry (as mentioned above), and blanching asparagus. I added the boost package into the water when I was blanching the asparagus to add a dash of flavor. I’ve also used the vegetable flavored boost mixed with some bow tie pasta in place of butter. It mights a tasty side dish.
Swanson as also added to their stocks and broth with their Unsalted Cooking Stocks. I love that they have unsalted stocks. Have you seen how much sodium is in some of the broths and stocks available in the market? WOW! They are loaded with sodium which as you know is not good for you.
Currently the unsalted Swanson stocks are available in two flavors, Beef and Chicken. You can use them in any recipe that you normally use stock with.
I use chicken stock in place of water when making white rice. Beef stock is great to add into the crock pot when making pot roast. I also use stocks to make soups and potatoes. With Swanson’s Unsalted Stocks I can continue to make the same tasty recipes I always make my family but feel better knowing there is less sodium thanks do the unsalted stocks.
I love the convenience of having the Swanson Flavor Boost packets and Unsalted Stocks. They are great to keep in your pantry to add into your every day recipes to jazz up the flavor.
Look for these new Swanson products on a store shelf near you.
For more information and recipes please visit www.SwansonBroth.com.
Swanson has generously offered to give a lucky reader all three Swanson Flavor Boost varieties (chicken, beef and vegetable) and both flavors of Unsalted Cooking Stocks (chicken and beef). Thank you Swanson.
